There are plenty of songs that reflect love and friendship that doesn't directly represent or respond to fathers and daughters. My husband and his mom danced to Over the Rainbow because The Wizard of Oz is one of their favorite movies. Not a love song, per se, and doesn't address any relationship, but it was fitting. Another good option might be What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong, as I'm sure your father-in-law has helped make your world that much better. If you like country music, some good ones of that genre with the same intentions would be I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack, or My Wish by Rascal Flatts.
