Night Wedding

I would love a night wedding but I am trying to do earlier because if it is at night people expect alcohol so keep that in mind. Does your venue allow you to bring outside liquor? I would rather an evening wedding but it will depend on the venue and food within out budget.

Our venue will allow outside alcohol, but were are only doing beer and wine in cans, to save on cost. The only issue will be lighting right now, but Christmas string lights will be a good solution. The ceremony is at 630 just at sunset, then reception till 10. We are doing pictures earlier in the day however.

Oh that sounds perfect. That is a route we are going pending an affordable reception venue and yeah if we can do outside liquor without a bartender we would do beer and wine. I would love a sunset wedding and pics at sunset but it will pend on the cost. You're getting pics out of the way so that is the big thing. Congrats and sounds like a plan.

Yes, my ceremony will begin at 6pm...

Our ceremony begins at 7 PM! The reception goes until 12:30 AM, however we will most likely end it sooner than that due to needing to bus our guests to the hotel they are staying at. It is not my ideal time for a wedding (I am not a night owl) but I am really happy withe how the venue runs things.

Ours will be at 5pm in February, just as the sun is setting. The entire reception will be in the dark, and I only just started worrying about whether or not we'd get good photos because of the lighting. LOL oh well!

It will be cold and very romantic. We just bought all the Christmas lights yesterday for 50 - 75% off so we can light up the yard all romantic-style. I think people will have fun cozying up to a fire pit to roast marshmallows and tell old stories.

If you want lights, now's the time to buy them for cheap!

We will be having our ceremony at 7 pm with the reception to immediately follow. Our reception is in a swanky hotel music lounge, so not really set up to serve dinner (places to sit, but not good tables for plated meals) which is why we are doing things a little later. We are telling guests to plan on eating dinner prior and will be serving all finger foods/heavy hors d'oeuvres and doing cupcakes and donuts instead of slices of cake. The venue is open until 2 am, but we are planning on wrapping things up by midnight. Still figuring out the bar situation.... we are trying to decide between hosted bar until a dollar amount or time then changing to cash bar, hosting a limited menu all night but allowing people to purchase upgraded cocktails and wines, or just eating the cost and doing a fully hosted bar (ouch!).

Edited to add: We are doing a first look so we can get most of our photos done before the wedding so we catch daylight. The sun will be setting during the ceremony and the reception venue is pretty dark.
