Night before wedding plans

Christina , on May 19, 2019 at 10:45 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 20
Just curious what everyone did or will be doing the night before their wedding. I was in a wedding last May and the bride and all us bridesmaids stayed together the night before and drank wine, ate Taco Bell, chatted, cried, laughed, etc! It was so much fun so I want to do the same for my wedding in July. I get married on a Saturday so my plan is to get an AirBnB for Friday night and have all the girls stay with me then use the bnb to get ready in the day of the wedding! The boys are spending the day at the venue and it doesn’t have much natural lighting for getting ready pictures anyway so I don’t want to be there. I’m really excited and I found a beautiful bnb for a great price. Only downfall is the location (which isn’t too bad) and the fact that two of bridesmaids (out of six) probably won’t stay the night because they have babies (which I’m totally understanding of). So, what are your plans??

FH and I are bucking tradition and staying together in the hotel down the street from the venue the night before. Check in is during the time we would be doing pictures beforehand (we are also doing a first look) so it was easier to just stay in the hotel since we will be having the rehearsal dinner the night before anyway in the same venue. We both don't sleep well without each other (have been living together for 4 years), so we will both stay in the same room instead of one of us going home (or spending extra money on a 2nd room).

I like the idea of the bridal party having a slumber party, but I also didn't want to take my bridesmaids from their husbands/significant others (and 1 has a child who's also in the wedding) or dictate anyone else's plans for their sleeping arrangements.

Hubby & I stayed together & it was great! Because it was a DW, we stayed at the resort of our wedding & mini-moon. My parents hosted a BBQ welcome dinner the night before which was fun, then hubby & I went back to our resort villa and practice our wedding welcome speech (it was in French, with English translation). We were stressed so very comforting to be nervous & excited together before our big day.

My MOH stayed with me in the bridal suite the night before and hubby in a room down the hall with one of his groomsmen. But honestly I wish I had spent it alone. I had spent the last 36 hours chauffeuring her around and after the rehearsal and dinner I just wanted to be alone and mellow out.

I’m having a mini shower with the women coming in for the wedding since there isn’t an opportunity to have one at any other time (My Mom is hosting, not me) it’s at the hotel everyone is staying at, I also have a room rented for me & the BP to stay in that night before. We’ll be getting ready in it the next day before the wedding

    Rehearsal dinner.
Then maybe dessert and a drink.
And then off to bed. By myself.

We planned on having him stay at his best man’s house, me and MOH to stay at a hotel to have girl time and catch up, and my 3 sisters and their families to stay at our house.
None of that happened! Best Man and his wife got sick with the flu and didn’t even make the ceremony, so put sisters up at a hotel, had MOH stay at our house, (they were all in from out of town) and we slept in our own bed. It was a lot less hassle in the morning and just made more sense.

We have a suite at the hotel booked for the night before and the night after. After the rehearsal and dinner, he will go home for the night and I will go to the hotel with my best friend / one of my bridesmaids who is from out of state. We will probably hang out and chill and maybe visit with some other people who are in from out of state, but eventually I’ll be going to bed on my own. The next morning we will leave early for hair and makeup at the salon and FH and his groomspeople will come to the suite to get ready before heading to the venue. After the salon, my girls and I will head to the venue to get dressed there, with a stop at the hotel to drop off our car and then pick up flowers. We will make sure that there will be no crossing paths until the first look.

We have our rehearsal dinner the night before, but we'll be staying together at home the night before the wedding. I'm looking forward to it.

I'll be awake and headed to the venue before he wakes up the next morning. I'm an early riser and he is not.

We are staying at the hotel with our guests. Our rehearsal is currently scheduled for 4 and dinner at 6. Anyone involved in the ceremony, immediate family, and all OOT guests are invited to the dinner which comes to about 50 people if everyone comes. Those that we are not considering OOT all live withing about an hour of the venue/hotel so we are telling everyone that we will be hanging out in the lobby with a cooler after dinner for anyone who wants to swing by. Although we are staying at the same hotel, FH and I are not seeing each other after midnight (mother's orders) so around 10 or so I plan to go up to my room (suite) with my girls to finish the night (I am sure I won't be able to sleep) and FH will go with his guys (he's staying in his best man's room for the night).

After the rehearsal dinner my FH will be going home with my son and soon to be step-daughter. I will be staying in the bridal suite at the venue the night before with any of my bridesmaids that want to join. As of right now probably only one as all the other ones are married and I wanted them to be able to stay with their husbands since they are almost all traveling.

Rehearsal dinner, than drinks with the bridal party and any out of town guests who would like to come, and off to bed. Bridesmaids are staying in the main house with me and the groomsmen are staying about a mile away in a separate house.

I'm staying with my fiance in the suite at our hotel, we wanted to stay together. We live together (and have for 3 years) so it will be so much less stressful for us to wake up together & have our normal routine.

I love that! I want to uphold the tradition just because I think it’ll build the suspense and make that first look when I walk down the aisle more special ❤️ I’ve also been living with my FH for nearly 4 years but I’ll survive for one night I guess 😉 I strictly made plans for myself, the boys will make separate plans whether that’s stay in a hotel or just at home. I made the “slumber party” an option, not a requirement and I’m paying for the bnb so a majority of the girls were on board 😊

A very short rehearsal (it’s a DW in Vegas and we aren’t having a bridal party)... then gather with family and friends for some fun, food & drinks at Top Golf afterward ... FH and I will spend the night in our suite (I love the idea of waking up to FH on wedding day and spending that special time together).

I'm staying at our hotel while my FH will be at home. My MOH and his best man will stay the night with us. I can't wait, my girls and I are going to have a girls night filled with wine and bad rom-coms.
