Nice ideas for my friend?

Yam, on September 7, 2019 at 12:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10
My friend can’t make it to the wedding. His doctor told him no. He has Diabetes and recently had to have toes amputated. He still can’t walk. FH and I want to do something nice for him that’s wedding related.
We’re already recording the ceremony for family back in my home state so we’ve got that covered, we also want to bring him a plate and a little Diabetes safe cake. The menu was designed so he could eat it so it’d suck if he didn’t get to have any.

Any more ideas?

What about facetiming him so that he can see the Ceremony live?

The reception out there isn’t a strong enough signal 😞 that’s why we have to just record it.

Okay, then you can get him a to go plate and some cake, freeze it, and once everything settles down, either have him over or go to him and watch the video.

As a diabetic, I think it's very touching what you already have planned.

Thank you. I picked out an almond flour cake for the dessert table I was going to make, I can still make it and bring it to him the day after but it’s not the same as seeing him swoon over the dessert table.
I just want to do more than that. I don’t have any good ideas. I’d like to get him a gift from the new Mr and Mrs because he adores us as a couple, I don’t know something more sentimental than a plate of food and cake.

What about a tribute donation to the American Diabetes Association?
