newlyweds: framing your invitation set?

Anjum, on February 15, 2015 at 10:54 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Q1: Do any of you frame or archive your wedding invitations in a certain way? Do you just matte them under glass in a frame?

Q2: all the cards we got from guests were so pretty and nice, I don't want to just throw them out. Any ideas how to save them? The only idea I've come across is putting them in a binder using a two hole punch.. Seems like a good idea to me so far but I was curious if you all had other ideas.

A gift from one of our guests was our invitation matted & framed under glass. The mat is the same color as the ink on the invitation.

We kept the cards from our guests, but they're just in a file pocket in a cabinet.

We put our invitation suite in a shadow box (so just under glass). I haven't done anything with the cards our guests gave us. I was going to but got lazy.

My SIL got us this beautiful Kate Spade frame which will hold a wedding photo and our invitation, just waiting on the wedding photos from our professional photographer to put it all together

Also, I am scrapbooking other elements of our wedding which will also include pictures and other mementos. You can do this with your cards, programs anything else you have. Smiley smile

I'm hoping to get an invitation frame like Nicoletta mentioned. I'm also a scrapbooker so I save everything I can to put into scrapbooks. I'll be making one after the wedding. I love the shadowbox idea as well! I might have to do that to, hehe Smiley smile

Thanks! a shadow box or invitation frame is a good idea. i don't know where i'd actually hang it so many scrapbooking it all together with the cards and other mementos from the wedding will work nicely.

I haven't done anything with the invitations but I'm rather pleased with our plan for the cards - we've photographed the card front and the personal message and are turning it into a collage in Photoshop - this will then become the fly-page in our wedding album. The actual cards will be recycled because I try not to keep too much 'stuff'.

I will definitely be framing my invitation set! I'm going to have my flowers preserved, so I've been thinking about having them in the same shadow box. On pinterest, I saw where they used a hole punch to punch a hole in the top corner of the cards, and then strung them together with ribbon. I plan to do that with my bridal shower cards and our wedding cards.
