New Date! Now What?

Jocelyn, on April 7, 2020 at 7:34 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4

Hey Guys!

My wedding is for September 6th of this year. Although it may seem so far away, with the way that things are going, it does not look so good for us. With rescheduling the wedding comes a new date, and with a new date usually means new save the dates. We honestly don't have it in our budget to order new ones. What are some of you doing to let your family and friends know that you are changing the date??

Send an email! We sent an email to all our family and friends. And now we’re sending out a change the date card with a details card stating on there the information to RSVP by a certain date on our website. This way they have an idea the date is changed, but you don’t have to send out a save the date and then new invites. That’s a whole lot of money that just isn’t fair for us to spend!! Everyone will understand! There is no correct way in doing this- besides just letting everyone know the change in date. And if you have a hotel block then have your hotel switch to the other date and then send that info to your guests and then they can cancel if they can’t come. Goodluck!!!

I’m not sending out a second STD (but we did postcards originally as stamps are cheaper and bought on Costco). We will send out new invites and whoever comes will come. But we will text / email, etc once we have a firm date.

    Hi Jocelyn,

It sounds like couples are choosing to handle the date change several different ways. Here are some existing discussions with other brides with various ideas/suggestions:

    - Postponed Wedding Invites?

    - Change of date cards

    - Coronavirus Postpone Announcement (just in case!)

I'm wishing you the best for your September date! Smiley heart
