New Car!

Courtney, on July 10, 2019 at 10:50 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12
Whats more fun than financing your own wedding? Drop a couple more Gs and buy a new car!

No pics because it was dark and a little rainy; but we pick up our baby tomorrow after a quick call to the insurance company.

One of the reasons I'm anxious to get this wedding thing out of the way: we need a new garage door and to start saving for fiance to get a new car.

That was kinda of our thing- we're holding off on some home improvement projects until next year. It was either that or have my fiance stranded on the side of road lol.

Ahhh that's soo exciting! my car has been acting up with check engine light and all and I still owe about $5000 on it... sooo that's fun lol I would LOVE to get a new car right now but I definitely couldn't afford it.

Thankfully we had some tax money left over so we prioritized new car for my FH over some minor home improvements.

We are having this dilemma right now! We are also paying for our wedding ourselves, and now FH's car decides to start falling apart 2 months before the wedding. What an awesome timing. We were already planning on getting a dog, and that might even have to wait. Why is adulting so complicated?

Ah! I'm so glad to hear it!
My car is 21 years old and I do so much driving for work it's becoming a problem. I need to buy a new one but I'll need to use the money I saved for the wedding. I know I can re-save the wedding money in 5 months but still it's very stressful!
And my fiance has a horrible driving record so our insurance is through the roof!

We just did the same thing... just as all the final payments are coming due for the wedding, I get rear ended by a pickup doing 35mph (I drove a mini cooper... and was dead stopped at a light)...needless to say, my car did not fare well in that fight. We had planned on trading my car in after the wedding but decided that it wasn't worth it to put money in to fix it at this point and it was paid off. I am now the owner of a Ford Explorer but would have been happy to not have a car payment for a couple extra months.

Congratulations! I like to think buying a card leads to other wonderful things...but I'm a little biased (I met my fiance the day I bought my car a couple of years ago!)
