Nervous about being the center of attention!

30 days out today, and I'm so excited!! I cannot wait to finally be at the altar marrying my best friend. I am a little nervous about the whole-walking down the aisle, not tripping, not crying my makeup off-thing though. Plus I know everyone's eyes will be on me. I've never liked being the center...
30 days out today, and I'm so excited!! I cannot wait to finally be at the altar marrying my best friend. I am a little nervous about the whole-walking down the aisle, not tripping, not crying my makeup off-thing though. Plus I know everyone's eyes will be on me. I've never liked being the center off attention, it makes me uncomfortable. And so do a lot of compliments. What are some ways to deal with these nerves?

Following! I don't have any advice on how to calm the nerves. I too don't like being the center of attention and my FH absolutely HATES being the center of attention. We're both going to be a hot mess. At least we are having a private first look before the wedding. I think it may help us calm the nerves. Are you two planning a first look?

We won't be doing a first look because we're both set on not seeing each other until I walk down the aisle. I know it would probably calm my nerves but it's one thing me and FH agreed on keeping traditional.

Right there with you. I'm just going with the fact that everyone knows I'm a klutzy awkward as all get out person when everyone is looking at me unless I'm on a horse. I'm just owning it, it's who I am and if I manage to pull it off without being so awkward or falling over my own feet it'll be the biggest miracle of the whole event. Lol

My jeweler told me to remember to smile. Smile all the time. People will take their cue from my expression so no matter what I do, smile. I am nervous about tripping down the aisle but that's why I decided to walk with my father versus alone. I can lean on him.

I am the same way, to be honest I plan on having a glass of prosecco before the ceremony to help calm my nerves.

I am super nervous about this as well. Try taking some deep breaths throughout the day, it may be hard to believe but it really does work at reducing stress!

I also hate being the center of attention (I threw up in a McDonalds bathroom before my shower for H's side of the family I was so anxious).

I was so nervous in the weeks/days leading up to the wedding about this. But when the day came, I was so happy and so focused on H I didn't even notice other people. You might surprise yourself! It also helped me that we had a smaller wedding, did a first look, and had a sweetheart table.

I’m so happy to hear I’m not alone!! I hate being the center of attention! I almost didn’t have a wedding because of it. I plan on hoping that my wedding is smaller and my closest friends and family maybe I won’t be as uncomfortable and alcohol 🍺 lol 😂

A flask and/Xanax? Lol no but I’m awful with that kind of thing too, and I will probably throw up. I hate attention like that. Best of luck!

YAY you're so close! Just remember why you're getting married and that you're up there with the person you'll be spending the rest of your life with Smiley smile

Carol Burnett used to either bite the inside of her cheek or pinch her hand with her fingernails to calm herself down. I HATE being the center of attention as well, but I just keep telling myself, its my family an friends they all know me. Im not aiming for the wedding of the year, just a fun time celebrating. I'm also NOT wearing heals because like a PP said, I trip over air and literally nobody would be surprised if I did trip LOL. Speak the words of Drew Barrymore in Ever After and Just Breathe.
