I don't eat red meat and neither does FH so I need some opinions from red meat lovers. We have already nailed down our first four options for entrees: rack of lamb, chicken, salmon, and vegetarian. The final entree will be either chateau briand or fillet mignon. Both of our fathers are busy drooling over the lamb so they aren't helpful haha. I was told chateau briand was a fancier/better cut, but I had never heard of it until we got our options list. So which do you all prefer??

Filet mignon. Most people recognize it and would eat it.

@Celia I think a venue that isn't sub par can handle serving 5 options. I don't see how it will be confusing. People have more than 5 choices at a restaurant and it doesn't hold up service. OP I think either cut of beef sounds amazing. And I don't think 5 meal options is too much at all.

You definitely need the beef despite what people are saying. Lamb is very polarizing, people either love it or hate it. I would base my decision on what the sauce for service and sides are. I lean towards the chateaux as it presents better. It is sliced and fanned out on the plate. It is usually more tender as it is a bigger cut whereas a filet can get dry if the portion is smaller, even when cooked to the right temp.

If you don't eat red meat, you don't need to serve red meat. The same goes with lamb. (Just the thought of someone eating a lamb is repulsive to me). You already have enough entrees; many weddings we attend just offer a duet entrée and a vegetarian.
