Need Honeymoon help for outdoorsy couple

"hiking scenic mountains" I live in Davis, this is pretty much the gist of the whole dang town. Hiking, rafting, stuff like that. Plus that's the last week, that's the week before leaf peepers which is our towns big festival to watch the changing of the leaves.

Like many others here I was going to suggest California, western Washington, Utah or Colorado. At higher elevations you may have to content with snow (in the Rockies) but it shouldn't be bad at the end of September.

I love Colorado. I don't think September is too late to go. We hiked Pike's Peak in December and survived haha. It was cold and ice was on the ground upwards of 10000 feet but the views were amazing. We stayed in Manitou Springs and went to a great winery.

I live in Florida, honestly hurricane season on the gulf and bay side isn't anything o really worry about. I would probably avoid east coast and keys just in case but its not much to worry about honestly. I've lived here 11 years (in Sarasota area) and Irma was our only real scare. The gulf and bay has a shape that makes it really difficult for hurricanes to come up thats why most hurricanes hit east coast or pan handle (completely missing lower west coast area).

We are staying in Williams, AZ right on historic Route 66. It is about an hour from the Grand Canyon and an hour from Sedona. We plan to visit GC, Sedona, Slot Canyon in Page, and a few other places. We are flying into Vegas so we will go see the Hoover Dam and a ghost town called Nelson, which will be my new last name, so we are excited to go there.

We're going to Utah for our honeymoon the end of September/beginning of October!

We are flying into Salt Lake City, and then making our way to Moab, Utah. We are going to visit all 5 National Parks: Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, and Zion. We will stay a few nights in each location and end our trip in Vegas!

If you want true nature and privacy, you might want to check out cabin rentals. There are plenty in northern (lower) Michigan, particularly around Indian River and around a few of the inland lakes in that area that i remember being really pretty when I went fishing with my dad as a little tyke. If you are looking to go some place warmer, canyon lake here in TX has some decent views and rental cabins in wooded areas that might fit the bill. It stays warm enough down here that I don't anticipate any issues, even when I will be going there in late February for my own honeymoon. If you want to check out caves or other natural formations, there are a few systems in southern Tennessee and Natural Caverns just north of San Antonio. I'm not sure about climates outwest. I suppose a lot depends on what sort of nature and temperatures you are looking for. Beaches, woods, mountains, etc. Those specifics can drastically change what/where you should look at.
