I finally did my nails for the first time ever by a nail salon! I've only ever used the glue and press on nails, otherwise I'd paint my own regular nails. I got the no chip acrylic and I'm starting to get used to it. I love how it looks! But how damaging is it to my natural nail? Is it worth it to...

I finally did my nails for the first time ever by a nail salon! I've only ever used the glue and press on nails, otherwise I'd paint my own regular nails. I got the no chip acrylic and I'm starting to get used to it. I love how it looks! But how damaging is it to my natural nail? Is it worth it to continue "filling them in" if its cheaper than waiting to get them done for the wedding day? In other words do I let the acrylics grow out and get them removed until I get them done again for the wedding....or continue to get them filled in?

Dipping powders and gels are acrylics. Also great choices. Not damaging at all if done properly

Yes I agree with the poster above my comment. Many people rip the nails off which of course will cause you to destroy your nail bed. One time of getting your nails done will not damage your nails at all. I always have a nail tech soak the acrylic off with no problem.

They aren't great for your nails but I think I had acrylics for three or four years without a problem. Just be careful with them, if they start to lift get them replaced immediately and they'll be fine.

Irene soak off is the ideal method for removal. The newest and best products on the market are designed to be soaked off.
