Need help on Ostrich feather centerpieces

Tina, on March 25, 2015 at 10:42 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

I'm looking all over the internet and just have no idea what size to get for that and Eiffel tower vases. Has anyone done these centerpieces before and can give me some tips plus where to get that at an affordable price?

This is a pretty good tutorial. She also mentioned where she bought the materials toward the bottom. http://shannonberrey.com/_blog/Shannon_Berrey_Design_Blog/post/How_to_make_feather_centerpieces/

Thanks Wendy!! Oh, I didn't even think of the holder! Damn Lol I know..I'm trying to look for these feathers everywhere that won't cost me so much. The vases I found for a good price. I have 12 centerpieces to make. How many feathers did you have to use and do you remember what size you bought? Do I need some smaller ones too? I was thinking of using a rhinestone mesh on the vases...not sure if that'd cover the holder?

They are super expensive! I was going for that at first but changed my mind when I saw the price tag. Prepare to spend about $200 per centerpiece to be safe. Also, you will need the 15"-20" feathers for it to look right.

Emily - the tutorial is exactly what I needed. Thank you! I was actually looking at save on crafts too. Thanks to that I will not use them.

Thanks Promike. I know...I'm seeing these prices and I honestly thought it'd be cheaper than a floral centerpiece, but, I don't think so now. I just love the look though!

Okay got it. I wasn't sure if hobby lobby had them or maybe Michaels? I rather get them in person so, I can check them all myself. Should I get small ones too or did you just buy the one size?

That looks great Rosemary!! Exactly the look I want! The 12-14in look great in it! I wanted to order from eBay but was a little nervous too. I see though that it worked out for you, so, maybe I'll take another look. I love the water beads!

The most popular size is 13-16" drabs, but if your budget allows, you can go with the plush 18-22" wing plumes!
