Need help finding a wedding venue that would allow and work well with food trucks

Hi Everyone!

We definitely want a food truck wedding, no question about that, but I am having trouble finding a venue for it and would love some suggestions! We estimate up to 100 people will attend our wedding. I would like to have 3-4 food trucks that can pull up to an outdoor venue so we can see them and they are easily accessible and close to the tables where everyone will sit and eat. I envision a large, outdoor space with a tent (I'm open to any ideas). I live near Philadelphia and am fine with anywhere in eastern Pennsylvania, anywhere New Jersey, or northern Delaware (further if I found a perfect place). Most places I have contacted require either use of their caterer or choosing from a preferred list. I only found one place that said they allowed Food Trucks on their website but after contacting them, they have one preferred Food Truck as well.

Has anyone had a food truck wedding in any of these areas? Or do you know of any venues that would work for this? Thank you!

Although I'm not familiar with the area, maybe look into parks for a venue. They typically don't require a specific caterer

Maybe reach out to the food trucks that you are thinking of hiring. Perhaps they could offer suggestions based on other events they have catered.

I'm in central Pennsylvania and our venue does a summer concert series with food trucks. It might be far for you but if you wanted to check it out, it is called The Historic Acres of Hershey.

I am about 20 mins south of Philly.

Have you looked into state parks or city parks? I wonder if there is such a thing as like a temporary permit for the trucks that's needed for them to be in whatever area you choose.

Try Ridley creek state park or Rose tree or brandywine state park? Anything in valley forge?

I don't know in your area but we have events call Off the grid! It's normally in the park.

I also attended an event. It was in the large warehouse. They opened up the back (loading dock area) and that's where all the food trucks are. The tables are set up inside. Just an idea.

That is going to be a tough one. Try Factory 220, in Passaic.

One problem I can see is that you picked Memorial day weekend, and any good food truck is going to be booked at a place they can make more money.

Thanks for the ideas! I actually just chose a random wedding date for this website (don't really want to get married Memorial Day weekend) but am flexible so could get married any date that's available. I will definitely look into some local parks. The Off the Grid idea is amazing! I'd love a warehouse/food truck wedding but can't find anything like that near me. I'll look up the other suggestions as well!

I haven't checked to see if any of these places allow it, but I'm searching venues for my daughter for barn weddings. There's a few places that are more rustic that maybe allow it. The Farm in Quakertown, The Barn at Forestville in Furlong and Graeme Park in Horsham. They have caterers they work with, but they seem like the perfect setting for trucks and maybe will let you. I may be checking for us once we get further along.
