Need Guestbook questions...

Cathasach, on January 23, 2010 at 4:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

I am in the works of making the pages to our guestbook and I need help coming up with questions to put on the pages. We want to have several different pages just for uniqueness and if people want to trade pages that's fine too. There are about 3 questions per page and a spot to draw a picture.

Here are the questions we have so far:

Sign your name (at the top of the page)

How do you know the bride and groom?

Your favorite bride or groom memory?

A perfect pair or did opposites attract?

What advice would you like to give?

Did we miss out on anything interesting at your dinner table?

3 things your learned from us?

Your special wishes?

Your predictions?

Date of first child?

How many children?

Names of children?

Very unique idea for your guestbook, i'm wanting to have a photobooth, they can take pics in it and print out two copies, one goes in a guest book where they write their message and the other one is thiers to remember the day.

With the photo booth, it's a way to capture pictures of people that the photographer won't get (them being goofy) they (the attendent that comes with the booth) can make a scrapbook with the extra pictures. Plus it is good for the bride & groom to go in and ham it up themselves.

The photo booth is not in my budget that is why I opted for this method.

I like the questions you have so far but are you asking about your future kids or their kids? you might want to specify it might be a duh kind of thing but some people might get confused

What was your favorite part of the wedding? I think you have great questions. How many more do you need? I will think more on this one.

One great idea for a guestbook that we incorporate into most of our packages is an engagement photo guestbook:

You can even build this on Shutterfly.com or mypublisher.com if your photographer doesn't have this as an option.

Just take 10-20 photos of you both (professional or not) and put them onto pages with plenty of empty space around them for your guests to sign... kind of like yearbook style.

It's a great way to showcase your engagement photos, plus guests always get a kick out of looking at them.

Not to mention it's an album that you can put on your coffee table Smiley smile

    Good luck and congratulations!

The "your predictions" question is actually for the "how many kids" etc questions.

I saw a great DIY booth... if you have a digital camera with a timer or a friend to work it... they made a backdrop box out of sheets and PVC pipe, had a laptop with a picture printer there and several props... ended up costing them about $200 and Im considering it as well..

We setup a 10x10 tent w/ solid back wall and lighting in the ceiling frame for a diy "smilebooth". The bride/groom provides a digital camera on a tripod, we post instructions for use on an easel. A 6' table is setup nearby w/ "dress-up" items - mustaches, boas, various hats, crazy sunglasses, etc., we also provide a couple of large empty frames that can be held while framing the guest who is (usually) making some crazy face. We don't charge for this extra, I recommend that whoever is placed in charge of the photos setup a flickr account for downloads, and that guests be provided w/ the contact for the acct so they can buy or at least look at the pic. It's been a huge hit - not a guestbook but a great, inexpensive alternative to the photobooths.

Thanks for the photo suggestions but I really just need more questions for our guestbook. FH and I would like to have at least 5 more questions to help us change up the pages a bit.

I did the same thing, on shutterfly, and used questions like what you've already asked, plus things like What makes a good marriage? and What is the best part of being a family? I also asked for Thoughts on Love and had pages for messages to the bride and groom separately. I know this comes far too late for your wedding, but thought it might help others.
