I also really want to wear my hair down or half up and half down but if I can't figure out what to do about the frizz it might go up.

I pretty much never straighten my hair unless its a special occasion. I have yet to find an up do i like that has the natural curl in it, its always naturally straight hair. i feel like my natural curls aren't formal enough, maybe that has just been ingrained in my head that i needed to do something with the curls in order for it to look nice.

    ETA:

i might do something like this picture

I personally, never tried a keratin treatment. And a big reason is I do not want to disturb the natural formation of my hair with chemicals and there was a lady I worked with who got it done and her hair looked very limp and dull. Then again that could just be the way she styled it. I would talk to a hair dresser about that.

Edit: I don't believe Keratin treatment and blow out are the same.

I will probably be having the stylist straighten my hair and then re-style it into very loose curls for either a half-up style or sort of big, glam side ponytail-ish look.

I am in the same boat as several previous posters- I feel as though my naturally curly hair does not look formal enough, and I don't like how it looks when it's put up without straightening it first.

I actually have naturally curly hair but I straighten it for any important events. Whenever I have gotten an updo (school dances, proms, other people's weddings), I straighten my hair and then the hair stylist curls it and does the up-do. I attached a picture of my natural hair, what my hair looks like straight, and my inspiration pic!

I also have very frizzy/curly hair that I usually straighten when I want it to look nice. I got a Brazilian blow-out once before because my salon was running a special and it was the best thing in the world! I am planning on doing it again for my wedding because I want to wear my hair down. In my case, it got rid of my frizz and lessened my curls a little bit. It basically gave me perfect beachy waves without frizz for like 6 weeks! plus my hair was super soft and silky, definitely didn't damage it.

This was my hair in January, and will be again next week, I have natural curly and wavy hair. I do wear it in a pony most of the time because of being a nurse.

Mine is a frizzy wave type curl and I am doing a 1/2 up with curls look. I normally straighten the heck out of my hair. Luckily my MUA who is doing my hair was able to get my curls to stay as long as I wash and let my hair drip dry the night before. So glad I did 2 trials with her as we tested with it drip dried and blow dried and only drip dried held.

Yes, Mrs. In May, curling iron from natural curl works best. Don't straighten first, Future Mrs. Y.

I have weird "fried perm from the 80's" kinds curl. I am doing a few parts pulled back (not half up, I literally have enough hair for three regular people!), and I am having it put into loose, beachy curls. If I naturally dry my hair, it will hold curl/wave really well, and I'm just going to use lots of product to keep it from being frizzy. It'll either hold or not - I doubt it's something I'll remember in a few years.

Ooh thanks for all the fun pics, ladies. My natural curl pattern and hair color is similar so I'm thinking of asking for something like this...

I think in your situation and updo would be best. I wanted the same half up and down but I realized with all the humidity, sweat and dancing that I would pretty much have a poofy rats nest at the end of the night. A blowout is just using a barrel brush and blow dryer to smooth, straighten and add volume. Its more of a style where as a keratin treatment is a treatment to smooth and relax the hair follicles which usually leaves you with straight hair. I would do a few consolations and see what works best but I stand by my hairspray and bobby pin updo because I really think its the best for all the moving and activity of the night!

I have a solution for both of your problems. Next time you renew your vows you should do both. Which can only be done with keratin treatments made by Keratin Complex. Its called the personalized blowout treatment that works in the same day and gives you three months of treated hair. And its now packed with many ingredients to help your damage hair to be healthy again. I can't tell how many times I have already used their old smoothing treatment, which I loved, but I love my curls too and missed them even though I didn't miss the frizz. I would urge you next time to find this at www.keratincomplex.com and keep your curls and the smoothing treatment at the same time. I can't wait til this comes out and check out the trailer on this website. Bye!!!

I'm leaving it curly. I have 3C curls and don't need to worry about straight hair on my honey moon.
