Nail color too dark?

Hi Brittany! Is this a similar color to something you would normally wear? I think that if you like the way it looks, go for it! Personally, I really like dark nails, but if it's out of your comfort zone maybe go for something a little lighter! What don't you like about this color? Also, you could ask the nail artist to add a light shimmer to it like white or silver glitter to add another tone to it!

I love purple, it's my wedding color and I do typically wear dark polish.. I just thought it would look more purple like it looks in the bottle. To me it almost looks like it's black on my nails!

I do agree that it looks a little darker than purple, but, when you go to the salon you can also look at all the colors they have and see if you like one better! Even if you decide to stick with this color, I think it looks nice and you can't go wrong!

I love dark nails. Especially for a bride because it pops against the white/ivory dress. I however get my nails done alllll the time and always get pretty bold colors so on my wedding I plan to tone it down. I’m also having a bold colored bouquet so felt like my nails should be toned down as well. I say do what makes you comfy. As far as it looking purple, It’s does look black so for that reason maybe you can look for a dark purple that appears more purple lol

I'm a huge fan of dark colors - esp. in the fall, so I like it. I am not a fan, however, of accent nails; so if you aren't comfortable with the color, I'd just go lighter.

I would go with a French tip.

I don't think its too dark at all. Everyone goes for light pinks or sparkles on their wedding day. Stand out! I did a deep burgundy for my day.

I think it looks like black. There's definitely more purpley purples out there. I never do my fingernails so I don't even know if I'm doing mine at all.

I'm all for a good dark nail but I PERSONALLY think it's too dark for your big day!

Why not pick a different shade of purple and do an accent nail?

It’s a little too dark IMO but it’s all about what YOU like.

I like dark, typically wear black or deep maroon but this definitely looks black and not purple or even dark purple. It looks good but if it isn't what you were going for, I would try something else for sure. Maybe since it is night time try something a little lighter, it might still look darker and then end up being closer to what you were expecting.

Personally, it's too dark for a wedding in my opinion but if it's your style then more power to you! I just love a neutral colored nail because I don't think the attention should be taken away from the brides smiling face or beautiful dress!

I love the color, just not for a wedding. Maybe some sparkle will lighten it up a bit?

If its your wedding color it may blend with everything better than you think!

I 100% agree that it's too dark! Not what I was hoping for at all when I bought it. Definitely gonna be keeping this for an every day Fall color and find something else for my wedding nails. Thanks ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think it is too dark at all. I plan on having a dark burgundy color for my nails as well.

For a fall wedding, I don't think it is too dark. Perhaps going a tad bit lighter so you can see the purple more than the darker tone would be good. But either way, I think it would look nice!

I was like a crazy person when it came to choosing nail color (I sampled SEVERAL...I painted half my fingers different colors every time I went for a fitting 🤣)...but I will say what helped me out a LOT was googling the colors before I bought them— with Essie specifically there’s TONs of people that blog color contrasts, showing the paint on nails, or a side by side with a similar...it helped me immensely! Do try to limit yourself to ones you have actually seen in the store though, and know you can get. I found THE PERFECT color in a side-by-side comparison but it’s apparently impossible to find (wasted a lot of time on a wild goose chase there )

I think it is too dark and wouldn't personally choose it. To me it looks very gothic and black... maybe ask the vendor for one with more of a deep purple hugh
