So after coming back from my honeymoon on Nov 15th (Wedding Nov 10), I contacted my wedding photographer to see what would be the process of choosing the photos for the book and canvas in addition to ordering more prints. Mainly because my mom wanted to place an order for herself at the same time as mine in order to save time. Well I received no response from him. So I waited another week or so, texted him. No response.

I backed off until December when it was about 1.5 months since the wedding. Contract said photos would be received at 2 months, but I simply had questions. So I called, texted, emailed...nothing. It is now over 2 months and he's still not responding and I don't have any proofs/ photos, nothing. I am really tempted to drive to the address listed on the contract...I've already started contacting previous Brides from his FB page as well to see if they went through the same to get their photos...

Am I worrying too much? What should I do??

I would start with a certified letter with return receipt. When you email him, did you put a read receipt on the email? Sometimes that works to see if someone is actually getting and receiving the emails. Hopefully he is just busy and hasn't gotten to the photos yet and not flaked. Do you still owe him money?

I'm going to drive to the address just to make sure it is a good address, then send the letter, then file suit if it doesn't get better from there.

I paid him in full months before the wedding...I'm regretting that right now.

Hmm yes if it is indeed actually his house (and not a store front) it may not be the best idea to go to his house..Yea, just drive by and see if there is a car in the driveway.

Oh, man! That bride's wedding was in October and she still has no photos. I really am hoping you hear from him. Good luck!

Most, if not all vendors, require full payment prior to the wedding. The contract is supposed to protect both the photographer and the client. You have options. One step at a time. Good luck!

Thanks for all of the advice ladies! I'm going to follow the necessary steps to have this taken care of. I just hate that I'm even in this situation. You hear about horror stories from other brides and you pray you never have to deal with it...unfortunately now I do. Like you all said, hopefully something happens and this is resolved quickly. *fingers crosses*

I'll keep you all posted if anything changes -_-

Start by seeing if he's a member of any professional associations. If he's a legitimate professional and something has simply gone wrong, he'll be listed by Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) or Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Those are the two over-arching wedding photographer associations, and they have strict standards about how members should conduct their business. If he's a member, they will have something to say about it.
