My ring is too big!

peguina, on February 25, 2010 at 4:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

So my ring is a little too big and I'm worried about it slipping off my finger before I take it to get sized. I know that they have things you can buy to put on rings to make them tighter. Can someone please tell me what they call those things and where I can buy some?

Jewelers usually sell them and can fit them for you.

You should be able to stop into any jewelry store. Maybe even a chain store that sells jewelry like walmart or somethng.

Thanks girls! We are telling our parents about the engagement on Sunday so I can FINALLY wear my ring outside of my bedroom! I was originally going to take it to get sized on Monday but it could take up to ten days and I wanted to be able to show the ring to my friends and family before that so I've decided to wait to get it fitted. Now on Monday I'm going to go fit a ring spacer instead Smiley smile

I went to Claire's and got a package of plastic ones for about $7. The ones at the jewelers can scratch your ring and are more expensive.

10 days to get it resized? I couldn't part w/mine for that long! The place where FH got my ring does it right there while you wait. I think it took 15 min or so and we looked at wedding bands while they did.

Mine is too! I went into Zales- where we got the ring from and they gave me a ring "snuggie" for free. It's working out well and I didn't have to pay! Smiley smile Woot woot!

Same here. but tracey had a good idea... i think i might do that. im gonna get an upgrade before the wedding, just cuz there was very limited choices when he bought the ring (in guatemala) so i really dont wanna bother getting mine sized. cuz im just gonna wear it on my necklace later.

Yeah 10 days IS a long time. I'm not too thrilled about that part Smiley sad I got mine from Kay so I think I will call them tomorrow and see if they will give me a spacer for free.

Honestly, I wrapped some tape around mine until I got it sized!! But I don't really recommend this, it wasn't too great! LOL

Haha I've done the tape trick too in the past. The ring spacer will do just fine until you get it sized. Just curious @cbjk what exactly is a ring ''snuggie"?
