THE BACKGROUND I was taking a computer science class about java program. I really should have been taking a class about Microsoft Excel, but hadn't bothered to read course descriptions when registering for classes. However, the java class fulfilled a GEC requirement so I decided to tough it out. Good thing I did. THE FIRST ENCOUNTER It was a Tuesday morning--November 13, 2007 to be exact. My friend Lisa and I were working on our labs for our java class and had reached a point where we needed some assistance. I decided to go ask one of the student java consultants for help. When I had done this a couple weeks ago, the person I went to talk to was rude and said they were not the java consultant--even though they had a sign that said they were. While I was walking up to the java consultant, I had a thought: I don't know this guy, but we are going to date. Now, I've always been boy crazy, but never before had I had this instant thought before even meeting someone. So when I got up to the guy, I asked "Are you the java consultant?" He said, "No," so I turned around and started to walk away before he laughed and said, "I'm kidding. Come back!" After I asked my question, I hurried back to my computer, blushing like crazy. Lisa had a problem and told me to go get the java consultant but I told her no. So she went up and brought him back to where we were working, and he ended up hanging around until we both finished our labs. When we were done, he started to walk away--and I didn't even know his name! So I called out, "Wait! What's your name?" His name was Mike. FALLING HARD AND FAST A day or two after our first meeting, I went out to lunch with one of my best friends and I told her, "I met a boy." I was actually looking forward to the next java lab because I knew Mike worked at that time. The following Tuesday (the Tuesday before Thanksgiving) Lisa and I were back in the lab. Mike came over and sat with us for for 2 hours while we did our labs. Lisa left as soon as she finished her lab, but I stuck around for another hour or so just to talk with Mike. He was smart, cute, funny, and I loved his smile and his laugh. We friended each other on Facebook, and that afternoon I completely Facebook stalked him to see what we had in common. After seeing he had LOTR listed on his favorite movies, I started a conversation on his FB about the movies and how we should watch them sometime. I invited him to come over that Friday. Our first date we were supposed to watch the first LOTR movie, but we couldn't shut up. It was crazy how we thought so much alike. Instead of watching the movie, we ended up talking for hours, going to eat at Fazoli's and cuddling on my couch. The next day I invited him to come over again after I got off work. He came to my apartment at 11pm after I got off work. We ended up talking all night, and had our first kiss. One week later, we were officially a couple, and a week after that I knew I was head-over-heels in love with him. And our relationship has just gotten better and stronger from there.
