My "professional photographer" lost my pictures! He took about 85% of the main photos on one camera which we now find had a damaged memory card, a camera with a wide angel lens on another camera (which I thought was just overkill) and his assistant took "side shots". He told me he ONLY lost the photos from my church ceremony. When I went to check out the pictures in person with my husband he actually lost EVERY traditional shot and anything and everything of us looking directly at the camera. He LIED TO ME! There's not one photo that I loved of my husband and myself that I could use as a portrait or on my thank you cards. I'm so devastated that this happened to me. What do I do? Should I retake some pics ??? Of course, with someone else!

This is a once in a lifetime thing for me. I would like some nice professional pictures of us for memories.

I'll be getting to the bottom of this by the end of the week. HOPEFULLY!

You should send it out for recovery, and then have the photography company cover the costs. They can usually recover data (i work at best buy and we offer level 2 data recovery) it just can get pretty pricey.

Get yourself an attorney and sue him pronto. "An act of God" is if the entire photography studio was destroyed in a tornado, not the photographer was too negligent to back up his photos.

Continued from my original comment. they should also have to pay for a new tux rental, any dresses/clothing to be cleaned so the new pics look good. I would also try to sue the compnay who referred them to you & hold them responsible for not having professional vendors! Just my 2 cents from someone who is in the legal field. Good Luck!!

I would cry, inconsolable. I don't even think I would want to re-shoot the photos because like someone said above: nothing recaptures the magic of the day. First dance, cutting the cake, first kiss as husband and wife. I would sue the photographer and the venue for referring his services.

Im sorry to hear that, I'm not sure if you can sue, it wouldn't hurt to seek a lawyer and get some free answers to some questions. A damaged memory card is out of his control (thank you technology) but not an excuse : / I would get most of my money back though. And try to make the best of what photos you do have. It would not hurt to arrange a free shoot with him to take them over on location somewhere nice. Witht he hopes he replaced his memory card! It would save money!

    Good Luck!
