My neighbors are having sex

SwoleMates2016, on January 11, 2016 at 2:24 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 38

Again. I get it, sex is great, sex is natural, everyone loves sex. So moan a little, thump a little...

But buy some god damn WD-40 for your 'effing noisy as hell squeaky ass bed. Seriously.

We live in an apartment, I understand that noise travels, but this is ridiculous. It's right above my head. Squeak squeak for like 30mins almost every night, in the middle of the night so loud it wakes me up.

Would it be rude to bang on the ceiling and mess up their rhythm? It would be? Oh darn.

Okay rant over. Am I the only one here? Do you try to be considerate knowing that others might hear or be disturbed?

Ugh! I had roommates like this too! Now our spare room shares a wall with our bedroom so if we have anyone over and we so feel the need, we keep it down! You should absolutely bang on the ceiling!

I lived in an apartment on stilts, not only could I hear them but the apartment also swayed like an earthquake every time. When they found out they changed the time to the middle of the night thinking I'm asleep. Nope that just woke me up. Completely feel your pain. Sorry you're dealing with this.

FYI: if I really needed sleep I wouldn't care about messing up momentum and killing the mood.

I WAS this neighbor when FH and I started dating. LOL. Our walls were pretty thin and i felt pretty bad. I tried to make a conscious effort not to thump the walls.

Our new apartment has pretty thick walls, so I've been really lucky. We only have one bedroom wall that we share with a neighbor, and the bed isn't against it.

In college the people in the next appt over had their headboard right against the wall and went at it like rabbits all the dern time. I would bang on the wall to get some sleep and then she would glare at me in the hall. If she would have just moved the bed out a bit we could have had a win-win! I see no problem with making it clear if you can't sleep. Noise at certain hours is just not cool.

I would say something. I live in the middle apartment of a three apartment building. Walls are thin. I have either said something to my neighbors or left a note on their door before.

Ugh! When I lived in manhattan my upstairs neighbors liked to...I don't know what, really....maybe rearrange the furniture at 2 am at least a few times a week. No idea what they were doing but it sounded like pushing chairs and couches around for an hour. So rhythm to speak of, just annoying!!!

Lol! I use to have these neighbors in an apartment I lived in and they would always leave their window wide open when they would do it, and I HAD to walk past the window just to get to my front door! It was awful

The neighbors above us have a big dog. They seem to like to play with said dog, making him bark and jump around, every night, usually after we're in bed. I love animals and all, but damn. Can you be more considerate of what time it is?

Our old place had paper thin walls and was in a semi-attached house. We could hear everything in the apartment (house) next to us, the apartment above us, and the apartment below us. All three had young couples occupying them.

The first few times I heard, I was absolutely amazed and giggled. But it got annoying pretty fast when I started hearing it all the time.

Bang on the ceiling that's what I do. I also left him a note once, that said.

" Please get a new bed, I realize it only lasted for a minute but it woke my children".

Mind you I don't have children so I basically framed the neighbor next-door for the note. :o) Evil.

Oh.My.Gosh. I seriously feel for you so much. I just moved out of an apartment at the beginning of December last year where this was my night most nights. And this guy would go several times in the middle of the night (2am, 4am, 5am, etc). It was bad enough that I could hear wherever he was in his apartment everyday, because he sounds like an elephant when he walks. But his bed was the loudest thing and so were the damn girls he brought home.

I would bang on the ceiling as well. I never did when he was doing it, but I really wish I would have. Smiley tongue

That is the worst. In the dorms in college were horrible!!!! We had a nasty ass neighbor one time who would have the most gawd awfully loud sex, my roommate went ape shit on her. She was banging and kicking her door and calling her all kinds of names. It was entertaining. haha

As a grown up, I have been known to bang on walls or scream to knock it off. I HATEEEEE living in an apartment.

The couple that lives below us are so fucking loud all the time. He literally screams when he comes. It's not words or anything, just screaming. They also fight 90% of the time and are constantly yelling at each other. And they have 3 dogs in a 2 bedroom apartment who all alternate between barking and whining more or less constantly. They're part of the reason we're moving.

So when I lived in my apartment my neighbor was having sex. It was loud, my little brother, he was 16 at the time. We were trying to watch a movie. And all you heard was moaning and a lady saying ohi pappi repeatedly. So for 10 minutes we just turned up the volume on the TV. Then it got to the point where we could hear it over the tv. So I was on the couch my little brother on the bed. He started hitting the bed up on the wall and moaning. I was on the couch giving my best fake moan I could. After like 3 minutes of the noises there was no more moaning coming from his apartment. I met him downstairs later that night and he looked embarrassed.

As someone who has lived in a lot of apartments, I feel your pain. The people living above us last year must have weighed 600 pounds because they were so loud and it sounded like they were moving furniture around every night (at about 3 a.m.). They knocked stuff off our shelves. Seriously... be freaking considerate of others!

    Edited: Spelling.
