My hair Does. Not. Curl. It hasn't been able to hold a curl since I hit puberty. I have been to multiple hairdressers, had it done professionally multiple times, and it just doesnt stay for longer that an hour IF I stay inside and don't move, with an entire can of hairspray on my head. I had my HMU trial this week and it went well aside from that. We got it to somewhat stay, but I went to take some pictures outside in the Texas heat and wind and it of course fell out almost immediately. I'm worried it won't even last through the ceremony (which is outdoors) and that I'll have limp sad looking curls the rest of the night. What should I do??

PS: I'm a white woman, with naturally straight light brown hair. (For reference on possible products)
I do not want to do an up do, it looks awful on me. I don't want to do braids because I always have my hair tied back or braided and I want my hair to look different on my wedding day.
Thanks!!

Have you tried not washing it for a few days before? if your hair gets use to it, it will not appear greasy and will hold a curl a lot better! this is the only way mine will stay!

Before you go perm (which is adding chemicals to your hair and is permanent -- hence the name), have you tried a roller set? Try going to a salon and tell them you have curl resistant hair and you want a roller set. They will put your hair on rollers, while it's wet and sit you under a hood drying. This will heat set your curls and maybe make them stay longer. It's worth a shot and way less of a committment than a perm. Also, regarding clip in extensions, there is a way to get extensions put in without actually having your natural hair mixed in. A good stylist used to doing extensions, will braid your natural hair up and clip the extensions to the braids. They can do this in a way that allows the front portion of your hair to be teased up with added volume but the back left out for a nice half-up/half-down do. You may have to do a bit of searching for someone in your area who can do this and I can't tell you what the cost will be, but i'm just throwing some other options out there.

Good luck! Be careful though a perm is, well, permanent. If you don’t love the results you’re kind of stuck with them.

Yes, I do this as well. I have thick, long, straight hair, and a lot of of it, cant do buns, neck kills me an hour into it. The dry shampoo helps add that grit and give the hair texture, you can try with a wand curler at home. You can also try with a bit of hairspray to hold that curl some. Hope it works for you if you decide to give it a go.

Absolutely! I ended up finding my old hairdresser who I LOVE (she had moved but still worked at my old salon, long story haha) and she had an idea that worked great!

Omg i hit send too soon haha! What we did is I went in with just washed hair, she put some special gel in, and we put it into foam curlers overnight. Then in the morning she fluffed them out and dried them and recurled what was needed and sprayed it to hell with hairspray! It worked great for the trial, but didnt last as long the day of just because i was running aroumd like crazy haha! Good luck!

Thank you so much 😊 I’ve been considering overnight curls because a curling iron is not the move lol

Have you tried not washing for a few days before? Spray some leave in shampoo and wash it 3 or 4 days before I have the same problem ans that’s what works for me
