My dress ☹️

Hailey, on October 7, 2019 at 9:12 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 2
My fiancé and have seen engaged for almost 4 years now. We’ve started and stopped the wedding planning process 3 times because expensive life crap keeps happening. Anyways I bought a dress a couple years ago and I think I’ve fallen out of love with it. I’m hesitant to buy another one because they can get expensive. Also, the dress in unaltered and maybe that’s why I don’t love it. Anyone have any advice or tips??

If you really dont like it, maybe try selling it to see what you can get. And then start looking for another dress when you have a definite wedding date. Good luck!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Hailey.

I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling this way Smiley heart

After having the dress for so long, it’s normal to be second guessing the choice. Have you been looking at it much over the years?

I would advise you to take some time to really think this through. Put the dress away, don’t look at it or think about it and in a couple of weeks/months, try it on and see how you feel. There is a reason you loved this dress originally. Your feelings about it may be tied up in the disappointment you’ve faced over the years with your planning.

You could also bring the dress to a seamstress who can clamp/pin it or show you what the alterations would look like so you can get a true feeling for how it would look.

After all this, if the spark still isn’t there, take a look at your budget and see if a new dress is possible.

    I hope this helps!
