In June 2023, just after our 38th wedding anniversary, my husband and I will have the Catholic wedding ceremony we couldn't have back then (we did have a small wedding in a non-Catholic church) because I'd been married before and divorced. I've recently been granted a Church annulment and we are planning a "convalidation" ceremony at our parish church. It will take place near the end of our usual 10AM Sunday Mass. There will be no invited guests per se, (the only people that know at church are the priest and the choir who will be singing that Sunday anyway) it will take place in front of the regular congregation and performed by our pastor. Afterwards, there will be a wedding luncheon, hosted by my MOH/Best Friend (also our church music/choir director/organist), and her husband at a nearby elegant Italian restaurant. There will be 8 of us including our son who is BM, and his 12 year old son and 8 year old daughter, and the priest. My ensemble (I am a tall, curvy, 71 years young with dark auburn hair, brown eyes, light olive skin) is ivory, almost butter cream in color: a sheath lace dress, a sheer "coat" that is longer in the back, a small bow with a veil, ivory shoes and an ostrich leather purse. I'll be wearing simple teardrop pearl earrings, a short pearl necklace that hubby gave me, a small gold & diamond cross that was my Mom's on a gold chain that was her Mom's. I'm planning on carrying a small bouquet of ivory and peach roses. My hubby will wear a formal black suit, white shirt with French cuffs, black and light blue paisley tie, black shoes. My MOH has a lovely royal/navy blue 3 pc pant outfit, that will be gorgeous with her light auburn hair and green eyes, and gold metallic ballet flat shoes. I'm planning on a corsage of ivory roses for her. Our son will probably wear a navy or charcoal grey suit & white shirt with French cuffs. His kids, both very fair and blonde like him, have outfits I sent them: white shirt, navy pans, plaid tie for the boy, light blue lace dress for the girl. There'll be ivory rose boutonierres for the men.
