My big fat American Gypsy wedding (not really wedding related)

You have to remember the cultural background of roman gypsies. The bigger the dress, and the more extravagant, the higher the perceived status of the bride and groom. Taste goes totally out the window and is replaced by power symbols.

I think the ugliest dress on there was a bright blue wedding dress with train all the way to the sea and seashells sewn in. It was hideous... The bride loved it...

I watched this hot mess of show on repeat all weekend. I stayed up til like 3 AM on Saturday literally thinking, "wtf am I watching?!?" I just couldn't turn it off though. Between the ugly dresses, 16 year old brides, rapping gypsy, pig ring bearer, and the cousin marrying her other cousin's ex-husband, it was just great. lol

They're probably making fun of how plain and thin American dresses are. It's definitely a cultural thing and TLC needs to make money off the people that will say, "OMG that's hideous!!!!" and watch episode after episode.

That show makes a mockery of the Romani people. I absolutely will not watch it. They are making fun of a people that have been run out of their homes and their land and are to this day beaten in public for being Romani.

No. I absolutely will not spend a second watching it.

@Jo From what I've seen, the Romanicheli Gypsies do a lot of the beating, I was only watching it because there was literally nothing else on and I couldn't find anything on the DVR to watch.

I won't watch it either, for the same reasons.
