I got married August 11,2019. As I reflect back on my planning journey I want to be able to help future brides. Below are items that are NOT must haves for a wedding

Guest transportation- Although it may be nice to provide transportation for guest it’s not necessary. Guest will find transportation and many prefer to commute on their own so they can leave when they want.

Limo or speciality cars- If your not incorporating a limo in your entrance or bridal party entrance scrap it. My wedding the limos picked up my bridal party and I and brought us the venue. Same for my husband and his bridal party. The bridal party reported what a waste of money it was and they can drive their own vehicles to the venue because they need to drive home anyways.

Menu cards- at the end of the night individual menus get thrown. To save money you can display a nice menu one on each table or get orders in advance on rsvp card.

Ceremony Programs- individual programs get thrown out. Try utilizing a board or discard regard altogether.

Seating cards/seating chart- open seating may sound weird for a black tie, very formal wedding but if you utilize reserved cards on the bridal party and family table. You will be reserving the seats for special guest and allowing others to sit wherever they want and you save the money and headache of where to sit people.

rehearsal dinner- Are a added cost. See if the venue will allow you to have a rehearsal there for a hour or so instead of paying for a formal or a dinner for the whole bridal party.

Favors for guest- most favors end up being dust collectors and people don’t use them.

Paper Wedding invitations- With the advancement in technology sending virtual invitations have become more popular. There are also fancy ways and video invitations. Guest can also rsvp online as well to avoid paper overload.

Flowers- If your on a tight budget you can use different items to put in a table such as candelabras. Esty and amazon.

At a wedding for me the MUST haves are great entertainment and food for an unforgettable event.
