Our wedding will be a 4-hr Sunday afternoon affair in late January, taking place mostly outside at a Brooklyn restaurant (Frankie's). There will be a ceremony, followed by a 45-min cocktail reception, seated dinner family style, and dessert in the garden area. There will be no dancing, although we are considering a first dance. We'll have about 75 guests.
We're trying to figure out what music makes the most sense - violin/cello or guitar/singer. Given our budget, we can likely only have one musician, and given the venue, it needs to be acoustic style. Violin seems to be beautiful for the ceremony/cocktails. Personally, I get mushy inside with male guitars who sound like girls when they sing (I'm told this is tenor), my fiance prefers baritone. We also have the option to play Spotify.
Of course its subjective, but would love input on what sort of musician seems best suited for this sort of event. If its a guitarist/singer, we'll have to agree on a vocal sound! Thanks for your input!
