Multiple cakes?

Has anyone ever been to a reception with a small cake on every table doubling as a centerpiece? It's something I've been kicking around but have never actually seen it done. That way I can use all the cake toppers I've bought too since decisions are hard

At a reception we attended, the bride had borrowed vintage cake pedestals/stands from various relatives. There were maybe 10 tables. Each table had a different cake with a sign saying what flavors the cake & filling were. We chose our seats by what kind of cake we wanted! I still remember that our table was the chocolate cake with raspberry filling!

    Nancy that sounds so fun!

I have 3 different toppers as of now. Plus a handful of different ones to represent our dogs Smiley winking

Yes I work for a catering company and we did this earlier this year. As it did look lovely, however the cake stands that the bride provided tipped over (not all but some) and guest had cake on their lap. Also consider the cost. Added up it cost way more then a typical wedding cake, due to all the extra baking time and decoration time. And the bride did do 3 favors.

I've been to a wedding like this. We were able to have a cake dance and winners took cakes home. It was fun

I saw a wedding that had cupcakes at each table. That way guests could choose the flavor they want and they didn't have to cut and serve themselves.

I was an article where they did cupcake tree for each table. I saw it a few weeks before my wedding, otherwise I might have considered that idea. Cupcakes (or other single serving desserts) would be easier and probably cheaper than doing a cake at each table. I think either would look nice though!

Yes I was at a wedding like that once. Towards the end of dinner the servers came out to get the cakes, brought them in the back and then cut and served them like normal.

This is a wonderful idea! I love cake so staring at it all night and waiting would be hard lol but I wouldn't mind serving myself if needed. I.E. bigger slice! yum
