Mother son song

Simple Man by Shinedown... its closer to the 5 minute mark, so try to cut it down if you can!

I'm assuming this is for your FH and his mother? Are they close? are they playful or stiff? give us a little more and we'll help you find the right one!

Simple Man is a great song choice, we were considering that for a while but couldn't find the right version for us. We decided to go a little more traditional and chose Have I told you lately that I love You by Van Morrison.

My husband and his mom danced to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. It has special meaning to them: she dedicated that song to him when he was leaving home to go off to college and told him "one day we'll dance tot his when you're getting married and starting your own family"

Ask your FH is there's a song he'd like to dance to, if he doesn't care, ask your MIL. It'll make her feel special, I bet

A couple other good ones- Because you Loved Me and I Turn to you. These both actually work for father-daughter as well so you can combine them.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I am going to look into these songs and hopefully be able to find the right match..I do like Simple Man, but like Lindsay I can't find the right version for us.

@MCDJCarlos-My fiance and his mother are very close and this is probably going to be emotional for the two of them.

My FH and his mom are also doing Simple Man. Its one of his favorite songs and was his ringtone when we started dating.

Sooo embarrasing, but FMIL wanted "wind beneath my wings" for the mother/son dance. Barf.

Forever young for FH and his mom

We're also having some problems finding the right mom/son song- so few out there that aren't super mushy! I wouldn't go with You'll Be in My Heart- I looked up the lyrics & they aren't right for a mom/son relationship (seems a little Mommy Dearest to me). I like Simple Man but FMIL doesn't like how "rock"y it is. Look at A Mother's Song by T.Carter (it's a little mushy but not too bad).

There's also The Man YOu've Become, lyrics are nice but sounds way too musical-like for my taste.

Here's a couple more: The First Lady in my Life by Paul Todd, kind of long but not quite so mushy as most of the ones I run across (maybe the DJ could cut it down? worth youtubing so you can laugh at the guy's 'do). Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion- FH lost his sister in '98 which was devastating for both him & his mom, so this song might be good for them considering their shared loss (& you might like it too for other reasons?).

Ok..So I think I have a winner. My Wish by Rascal Flatts. I just have to see how the FH likes..Thank you everyone! I will definitely be back if it's a no go!

LOL @ "wind beneath my wings!" - H and his mama danced to "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong... it was a hit, decently short and a fun song!
