Mother of the Bride

Olivia, on March 3, 2020 at 6:00 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 1 10

Hi everyone!

So I'm a little stumped on what to get my mom for a gift. I really wanna do something unique and meaningful. I've checked out Etsy and they just have a bunch of stuff like glasses, picture frames, bags, and stuff that doesn't seem too meaningful (in my opinion). Does anyone suggest any other website or ideas else? Also, what does everyone suggest on how much to spend on mother of the bride/father of the bride gifts? And whats a good amount to spend on my bridesmaids? Thanks everyone!

Could you get her jewelry to wear the day of and then a nice card saying you'll get her a wedding book and canvas picture made after your photos are done. If she's into spas you could get her a massage gift card as well.

I like what pp suggested! Or maybe think about what she’s super into? For instance my dad and father in law LOVE Hennessy and so we got them special editions of it

I saw a sweet handkerchief on etsy with a personalizable embroidered note!

I got my mom and his personalized handkerchiefs, and I also went a little crazy with diamond paintings for both of them. I've spent way too much on everyone.

I actually found some cute ones on Etsy. Here's a link to the shop I found https://www.etsy.com/listing/187414342/gift-for-mom-mother-of-the-bride-gift?ref=user_profile&frs=1

If you look at the seller they have different gifts. Good luck!

I think I am going to get my mom & MIL this blanket. You can make the tag have a personal hand written message.

Why not give her something that represents your relationship with her.

I got Alex & Ani initial bracelets for all of the ladies (MOH, bridesmaid, MOB and FH's mom and step mom) and for myself. It's something personal that they can wear the day of and beyond.

I'm going to get my mom this necklace and something else that I haven't figured out yet. I've had this necklace planned for her since right after we got engaged. I love the saying with it.

I think how much you spend depends a lot on your overall budget and scale of your wedding. It's perfectly fine to keep it simple and purchase something under $30, similar to what you may buy for someone's birthday. Others go all out and buy get-ready robes/outfits, cups, bags, jewelry, etc. A lot of BMs might prefer that you pay for their dress, accessories, or hair & makeup rather than giving them gifty items they don't need. You can also take that approach with your mom. You could gift her a spa day or other special day together or just for her. Tickets to an event she would love. A nice dinner and evening out together, especially if you don't normally see each other often. Think about what she likes to do and go from there
