Mother of bride corsage??

Krystal, on July 7, 2020 at 7:51 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 33
To do or not to do? Is this still a thing? Any other ideas out there? Her grandmother will probably get a pin on corsage, but my mom an stepmom are younger and I feel like corsage or pins are out dated, any ideas?

My mom and my mother-in-law both wore corsages. Pretty much at every wedding I've attended I have see the mother of the bride and groom wear corsages.

Corsages are still a thing and don't make anyone look old. Talk to your florist about alternative options if you want something different.

Both of our moms, my great aunt (who has been like my grandmother) and his grandmother all had wrist corsages. Both dads and his grandpa also had boutonnieres. Where I'm at, it's pretty common for parents and grandparents to have them.

I was the MOB. The MOG and I both had wrist corsages. They were pretty, but honestly, mine drove me crazy. I took it off as soon as we got to our table at the reception and left it off the rest of the night. Yes, they are traditional, but they aren't a requirement. I'd talk with the moms and get their thoughts. If they want them, then I'd do it; if they don't care, you can skip them! Sometimes, as an alternative the moms have small "nosegay" style bouquets. Daughter and SIL also presented each of us moms with a long-stemmed white rose during the ceremony. They were lovely, but something else I had to hang on to during pictures, etc. Again, as soon as we got to our table, I left the rose there for the night. In hindsight, I think we could have skipped the corsages; the single roses the kids gave us were more than enough for me. Good luck!

I did them for my mom and MIL I asked if they wanted a wrist or pin on. I know at least my mom was excited to wear it! It is not out dated at all.

We aren't doing this as we just don't find it necessary and our mother's are indifferent to them Smiley smile

My mom said absolutely not. I honestly think it’s a little tacky and very prom like. My fiancé’s mom also didn’t want one. But it’s really up to the person! It seems like a personal preference.

I think it's a personal preference. When we asked my mom and MIL if they wanted corsages, they said no way because they felt they were outdated...my grandmother, on the other hand, was super excited about having a pin-on. Our dads both had boutonnières, but we simply skipped wearable flowers for the mothers because they didn't want them.

I’m using 3 roses for my corsages as one of my “hidden mickeys” so I hope they wear it lol.

We aren’t doing them. My mom hates the pin on ones, and the wrist ones can be itchy and get in the way. For us, it’s not worth the expense for something that will just be thrown away. Plus, I don’t like how they look.

We went with bouts for all the parents. MIL and my stepmom felt they could pin this to their attire, instead of wearing something on their wrist in August.

We had floral bracelets for our Mothers and they were gorgeous! Instead of the traditional wrist corsage that is on elastic and can be itchy. The florist put flowers on cuff bracelets and our Mothers loved them! They stayed on all night through dancing and looked wonderful in photos. You could see if your florist will do these wire cuff bracelets. They secure with a clasp for easy on/off. Congratulations and can’t wait to see how it turns out!
