Morning Wedding Timeline?????

Samantha, on June 29, 2020 at 9:31 PM Posted in Planning 2 14

I am in the process of starting my wedding day timeline and am struggling a little. My wedding is on a Sunday with the Ceremony starting at noon. H&M is coming to me, my mom has breakfast covered, and it's about a 30 minutes from where we are getting ready to the venue.

What have your morning timelines been? We are NOT doing a first look so I don't have to plan extra time for that.

I personally think this is mainly depends on hair and makeup and whether you are having it done where you are getting ready vs having to go somewhere? vs if anyone else also has to be accommodated for this. Most importantly you want to make sure you have plenty of time to have something to eat, you don't want to walk down the aisle with an empty stomach!

The Hair & Makeup crew is coming to me. My mom is also all about getting us breakfast in the morning! It's also a 30 minute drive from where we are getting ready to the venue.

It all depends on your wedding ceremony time. Yes your venue could be 30 minutes away but also keep in mind your guest will be also making their way towards your venue and you have to give yourself at least an hour to an hour and a half in advance to avoid the stress of getting there on time. Also a bonus of arriving at the venue earlier is that most venues allow you to have some private time and keeping off guest from a certain area restricted to you and your party only. Talk to your venue this will make wonderful pictures of you and your parents, siblings, and bridesmaids before the wedding. I also would recommend giving yourself at least 5 hours before your ceremony to get ready. For Instance a wedding at 3PM start getting ready around 10-11AM. You always want to give yourself time for error or sidetracks that might come your way so that your not stressing or feeling overwhelmed as a bride and you can focus on relaxing because you have more than enough time to enjoy your big daySmiley smile Congratulations! also Pinterest has amazing timeline suggestions and all you have to enter is the time your ceremony will begin and it will generate one for you. You can also add your reception, pictures, and grand exit with more hidden details for you Smiley ring

Our wedding is also a morning wedding - ceremony beings at 11am.

Me and BMs are meeting hair and make-up at the venue at 9am. I am doing a "first look" with my dad, not FH, but our photographer didn't need a lot of time for that.

I will be waking up probably about 6:30-7am to grab some breakfast with everyone and have time to get ready. We're also only staying 15minutes from the venue, so that helps.

My wedding starts at 11am (people being seated) for an 11:30am ceremony.

6a - up getting showered and drying hair

    7a-9a - hair and makeup

9a-9:30a - FH and I, with our daughters and attendants, limo to venue

9:30a - finishing touches on setup

10a-11:30a - getting dressed and doing the little girls' hair

    11:30-12p - ceremony

12p-1p - cocktail hour while bridal party gets photos

1p - grand entrance to reception (same location)

    1:10p - 1st dance

1:15p - mother son & father daughter dances

    1:25p - meal service

    2:15p - open dancing

    3p - cake cutting

    3:10p - garter & bouquet tosses

    3:20p - open dancing

    3:45p - last call

    4p - everyone exits

Some of that may be subject to the DJ and Photographer's suggestions, but it's the base time line we're working from. Some of the reception events will likely take less time that we've allotted, so more open dancing opportunities. We're having a very small wedding - only immediate family, our children and grandchildren, and each of our best friend and their SO. Total invitees are 54.

    My ceremony begins at 11:30

7am: Heading over to salon for hair and makeup

9 am: back to my mom's house for portraits and candids

10 am: over the venue (5 minutes away) for first look and pictures with our families

There's no bridal suite at restaurant I'm using, only a regular ladies room so I am getting dressed at my mom's house. Bonus: the dog can be in some pictures!

This was exactly what we did! Ceremony was noon on a Sunday, no first look Smiley smile I did my own makeup but I did have a hair stylist come to me. One of my bridesmaid is also a professional hair stylist so she did hair for the other girls, and helped with some of their makeup too. We started pretty "late" I suppose... but I am not a morning person and I valued sleep over more time to get ready lol. This was our timeline:

    9:15 - alarm

9:30-10:00 - bridesmaids arrive, and I do my makeup

10:00-11:30 - hair stylist arrives, and does my hair

11:30 - I go put on my dress, veil, and jewelry

    11:40 - photographer arrives

    12:00-12:30 - ceremony

    12:40-1:40 - cocktail hour

1:40-1:50 - people find their seats

    2:00 - grand entrance & first dance

    2:05-2:20 - toasts

2:30 - first course is served

2:45 - main course is served

    3:00 - dance floor opens

    4:15 - cake cutting

    5:00 - reception ends

Happy to help! 😁 just make sure to talk with your hair stylist and makeup artist if you are having any, to make sure that they have enough time. The only reason we were able to do everything so quick is because I did my own makeup and we had a dedicated person for my hair, and another one to do the bridesmaids.
