Morning of Breakfast and Lunch for Getting Ready? What's Best?

So I'm trying to figure out what would be best to do for the breakfast and lunch of my wedding day. So I'm trying to figure out what would be best to do for the breakfast and lunch of my wedding day. To understand logistics, I will be staying at the hotel after the rehearsal dinner (I don't think it has a refrigerator). I booked a suite for my bridesmaids, my mom, grandma, and FMIL to get ready in. My HMUAs are coming to the suite to do our hair and makeup. Because my ceremony is at 1:30 and we have to be at the church at 12:30 (and the hotel is 30 min away) I was advised to start hair and makeup at 6:30 am.

I'm wondering what is best to do for breakfast and lunch? I want to provide this for the girls. I'm bringing champagne to do mimosas for them and was thinking I would order catering from a restaurant. But I want to avoid carb heavy stuff like bagels or scones only. Also it would be so early. Do you guys have any ideas on what would be good to order or where to order it from? I was thinking since I can't store it at the hotel I could either pick it up the night before or have a bridesmaid keep it in her refrig and bring it with her to the hotel in the morning?

Also what would you suggest for lunch? I want to do something light like turkey pinwheels and apples and chips. Would you recommend we also have that in the hotel room before we leave at noon for the church? What did you guys do for breakfast and lunch? Smiley smile All ideas appreciated Smiley heart

Does the hotel offer complimentary breakfast? Personally I wouldn't eat twice. I only eat two (small meals) when I am at work mostly cuz I am just bored lol. On weekends I'll eat a later breakfast/brunch. I think having one or the other is more than fine. I wouldn't even eat before 9am so maybe consider how early your girls actually eat to decide on which one! I think having a nice combo of both turkey pinwheels and maybe some sort of pastry and fruit/chips. I don't understand the carb heavy thing unless you're squeezing into your dress! When I eat I get a food belly no matter what it is lol. I think if you have a combo of both everyone can eat anywhere from 8-11:30 before leaving for the church.

Luckily they are not changing until we get to the church! But that's a good point! Smiley smile

Yes, someone else mentioned panera and it reminded me we have this awesome deli called Jason's Deli! So I think something similar for me Smiley smile

The light on carb thing is for me. I'm hypoglycemic and heavy carbs/sugar in the morning makes me extremely sick during the day and I've passed out in the past due to that. Also a few of the girls are on keto so it just doesn't make sense for my group lol

I had thought just one meal, but there were actually a lot of questions about both and they have made it clear they would really like both, so I'll probably have both options since it will be about 6 and a half hours before the ceremony! Thanks for the tips!

In hindsight, I don't think my daughter (the bride) ate much that morning, but the BM's did a pretty good job with both breakfast & lunch! lol.... (Also, they were at the venue at 12:30, for pictures prior to the 3:30 ceremony. At about 2:45 the entire wedding party moved to a private room to hang out as the guests started to arrive. We arranged with the venue to have a platter of cheese, fruit, bread, etc., along with water and champagne available then specifically because daughter has some blood sugar issues and/or didn't want to be hangry through the ceremony. She and SIL didn't eat again until they were seated at the reception about 5:30, because of pictures, etc. They were glad they had the pre-ceremony snacks to tie them over.)

I love Panera as an option. You can pre-order up to a month in advance and certain ones deliver. Luckily, the hotel we're staying at will do delivery. We are definitely using them for lunch. I haven't figured out breakfast, but everyone has given some great suggestions and ideas.

Do you have a Panera near you that is able to deliver? That’s what we’re leaning towards. I was going to get coffee, fresh cut fruit, pastries, bagels, and then hopefully sandwiches if they can deliver everything all at once in the morning. Then we’ll stash away half the sandwiches for the guys since they’re starting to get ready after us.

We plan on doing finger foods and veggies since we'll be getting ready after lunch. My mom has offered to get us some trays from the grocery store on her way to the hotel. Can someone make a quick run before the MUA arrives?

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding with a really early get ready time (2 HMUAs for like 10 bridesmaids AND the bride). She ordered several trays of breakfast tacos from Taco Cabana, plus we had mimosas. The tacos keep well, so we ate those for breakfast and lunch. No need to overdo it.

My fiance was just in a wedding and they had a huge Chick Fil A catering order put in. Then the groom asked a few of the groomsmen's GFs to pick it up on the way to the hotel. it worked out well for them. They ordered a bunch of sandwiches, nuggets, salad, and fruit. If you're doing early morning maybe yogurt parfaits or something too.

I'm assuming your hotel does not have a complimentary breakfast, which sucks. Almost all of the ones in our area did. for early morning I would suggest hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, granola and veggies. mimosas are splendid! see if you can upgrade to a suite that way you at least have a mini fridge. I really think having fewer things to do the morning of will make it less stressful, and coordinating who is bringing what where may be a hassle. If you can pick things up the evening before the rehearsal and keep it in your minifridge, that might work.

I won't support Chik-fil-a, but chicken nuggets are such a great idea! Comfort food that's protein heavy but relatively carb light.

I’m hypoglycemic + have anxiety issues so I’m making a strict plan for myself to snack all day. Doubt I’ll be able to eat a real meal being so anxious. But if I don’t eat every 4-5 hours... I could pass out at the altar. Lol. I’m just going to get everyone’s Starbucks order for the AM and then order delivery sandwiches or whatever is close. My bridesmaids will probably skip lunch/share food anyways cause I know they’ll be worried about how they look in dresses.
