On to the next... thing...

now that I’ve finally been able to book our rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and the “guest gathering” I’ve started to shift focus into what to do for the morning after the wedding!

What are some of you doing? A small brunch with immediate family? A full breakfast for everyone?

We are going to go breakfast and open it up to family and some of FH’s friends who will have come into town for the wedding. We will leave by 10:30 for our honeymoon!

We’re spending time 10000% alone. Checkout is at 11 and we’ll head straight to our honeymoon.

We are having a brunch for everyone staying locally. We only did it because we worked it into the catering contract but we're inviting people by word of mouth so we didn't have to invite everyone.

I am starting to consider inviting our immediate family (parents & sibilants) to our house for breakfast, or going with this small group to brunch. Only thing holding me back is the fact that my wedding will be the first time my parents have been in a room together since their divorce was finalized (super awkward), and I’m not sure if 3 days of events will be 1 day too many for them to play nice. We also leave for our honeymoon that night so idk!! All of our parents and sibilants will be traveling in though so 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m so torn.

We are having breakfast the morning after and have let FH's family know that they are welcome to join us. It may be at a restaurant or may just be the hotel's breakfast. Him and his family don't see or talk much, so I wanted the opportunity to let them all catch up with him without music blaring (haha) and officially meet me, since I've only met like 8 of his family members in the entire 3.5 years we've been dating. I also want to avoid my FH talking the entire night (he's a talker) instead of us having a good time at the reception.

We are considering spreading by word of mouth that we will be going to brunch at a local restaurant if any of our out of town guests or friends want to join. After that we will be heading back to my parent's house to open gifts with our families and have lunch. After the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception I'm not going to worry about planning and inviting everyone to another event.

We had a farewell brunch for anyone who wanted to join us. We did it open house style from 9:30-11 so people could come anytime during that range to eat and visit with us before they checked out of the hotel to go home.

We are eating breakfast in the hotel but we aren't hosting it, we just casually let people know we will be there around 9 if they want to come join us! If you can afford it, a hosted brunch is nice too.

We are leaving for our honeymoon the day after so our plan is to have breakfast with FH's parents, drop our dogs off with the family that is watching them for us and then head to meet my dad who is driving us to the airport!

I hear you!! Both mine and FH parents are divorced and this will be the first big event they've all been to so.. Should be interesting 😂 If I were you I'd probably be more inclined to do a restaurant only because then you wouldn't have to host a bunch of people in your house and won't have to clean up after

So true, much easier to just make a reservation somewhere! I will probably check with FH and see if he opposes, but I imagine we’ll likely do this. Hopefully it will set a (positive) tone for events to come when our 2 families will be together (kid birthdays, events, etc)

I'm thinking most people will be nursing hangovers. We may do a brunch at the cabins with immediate family but our wedding is a Sunday and I know most people plan on traveling home later Monday. This is a destination wedding for EVERYONE coming and is during the school year so I know people with kids will be rushing back. I wouldn't stress about it too much till it gets closer. Just enjoy being married. At my brothers wedding we didn't do anything with them the next day.

We are doing a brunch at our hour with just our immediate family members (parents, siblings/spouses and nieces/nephews). My FH and I are staying in a hotel the night of the wedding, so my mom and aunt can prepare brunch at the house the Sunday after. We eat, talk, open any gifts/cards we receive and then head off to the airport that afternoon!

Since I think a lot of us will all be staying together we will probably go to breakfast at this breakfast shop by the hotel, but it won't be a formal thing

I haven’t thought of doing anything, I was just planning on doing breakfast alone with my new husband. I guess it might be a good idea to plan a breakfast with our out of town family.

We have til noon to clean up.our venue. So we will swing by there if necessary.
Then a late breakfast at iHop.
Swing by the caterer to pick up leftovers.

After that, I'm thinking a nap and a second shower would sound nice.

I'd prefer to avoid having another event. If we absolutely can't get out of it (his aunts really want to see us open gifts) then we'll do a dinnertime thing. 5-8.
