I've been a WW user for over a year now, and while I see a lot of "budget" ideas and money saving tips there really isn't one thread with a ton of ideas put together to help each other out! I thought about including something like this in my BAM down the road, but it deserves its own post. I've saved a dollar or two here and there so I'm going to list my hacks below, please post yours in the comments!!

-Take advantage of Black Friday! Tons of stuff go on sale for your wedding that you could use..decor, clothes for parties (bridal shower/engagement/etc.) bridal party gifts (getting ready robes and pjs), stationary, etc. GET OUT AND SHOP! Also, cyber Monday is awesome.

-If you're buying online, leave your cart full for a few days. Most likely, you'll get an email for a coupon code to finish your purchase. Davids Bridal sent me a 15% off coupon code for my order of my tulle overskirt because I left it in the cart for over 24 hours. Saved $20 and got free shipping!

-Subscribe to get emails from places you frequently shop. You can always unsubscribe later down the road, but you'll be the first to know about sales in order to snag up a good deal on something you need. This is how I found out the bridesmaids dress my girls picked was on super sale, ($80 instead of $180, and it was being discontinued so my girls all scrambled to order it, they rock!)

-Again, SALES! Never buy anything full price, including stationary. I bought save the dates, bridal shower invites, bridal shower menus, thank you cards, posters and many many other things during one of Vistaprints 50% off sales. They have them multiple times a year, so I just made up my invites, saved them in my cart and when they went on sale I bought them. (Pro-tip: they'll probably have one again before Christmas, if not a few times before Christmas.) Other websites do this too, I just love Vistaprint.

-Michael's app, thank me later. Need a large photo frame? Need a lantern or two? Need to grab some extra chargers? Flowers? ANYTHING CRAFTY? Michael's app ALWAYS has coupons for at least one item (usually 40% or 50% off), sometimes 20% off your entire purchase. I always use the app to grab whatever I need, even if it means buying one thing at a time, its such a steal.

-Amazon Prime. Self explanatory, but still worth a mention. I'd say 30-40% of my wedding items have come from Amazon. I've placed 80 orders in the last 6 months. (This includes non-wedding orders, too.) It's $13 a month for a membership. If you place 2 orders a month, you've gotten your moneys worth in shipping costs. And its 2-day delivery! Can't beat it! Prices are often lower on Amazon than other major retailers too, and ordering is freakin' easy. Love Amazon.

-If you're like me, you probably know a ton of people getting married, too. Ask them what they're doing with their decor when the wedding is over. Maybe you can buy it at a discount, or if they're really nice they'll just give it to you for free, lol. Its worth a shot to grab a Mr. and Mrs. sign from your friend at a discount before you buy it somewhere else. Helps you both out in the long run.

-Buying vs. renting. I won't get into too much detail but buying is almost always definitely cheaper than renting anything for the wedding. Its often times more of a pain, but the pain is usually worth the savings, esp. if you're on a tight budget. If you can't re-sell items after the wedding, donate them to a friend or somewhere local for others to have the chance to use them, too. (This includes lights, linens, etc.)

What are your hacks? Let me know!

I designed my own invitations and used vista print for them and my fave the dates. They have a huge sale like twice a year and I paid only $50 for all of it.
Hobby Lobby has a 40% off coupon on their website you can use each visit.
Amazon!!! Haha my centerpieces and decorations cost about $120 for the whole wedding venue. (as apposed to the decisions the venue could have done for $500!)
I bought two cheap dresses. One from an Asian site for the ceremony and it was custom tailored.
One for the reception from Amazon (both were $50)

When picking what I wanted to splurge on, I thought about things that I really remember our enjoyed at other weddings. If I couldn't remember the details at all, I'm sure my guests won't either.

I went on Ali express. I spent a lot of time going through reviews. The woman who made my dress was very quick with responses and I got my dress in about two weeks!! Lacy, strapless, and with a corset back!

    Great thread!
we have gotten lots of items from Amazon! We surely got our prime worth this month!!

We we got our cake from Sams Club. Three teir for $69! we continuously negotiated with vendors. We got a discount from our photographer because she did my sisters wedding. As well as our caterer. And a family referral for the DJ as well. Last thing we hopefully/maybe taking advantage of is one of our coworkers is getting married the same place we are this weekend and have said we can have any of her decor that we want so we will get set up ideas as well as maybe free decor that we will pass on for free as well!

YESSSSS! Also if you are online shopping for practically anything. Get an ebates account. You can get cash back for purchases and get a check for any cash back you've received every 3 months as long as the total is over $5. I've gotten $20 bucks in the back 6 months of just using that. It is seriously so simple.

Uncle has a fancy cam? Hey can you take some candid pics of the reception?

Your boss is a Judge? Hey can you be the officiant?

Brother in law recently got married? Let me borrow or buy those linens that are sitting in your garage for a fraction of the price?

Recently attended a wedding where the bride bought stuff instead of renting? Hey can i borrow/buy that stuff from you?

Don't hesitate to utilize your friends and family. I'm inviting a friend from work and asking her to do my hair and makeup. I've asked my boss to be the officiant. I am borrowing linens from two other former brides. Also, check out Ebay and Craigslist for brides unloading their decorations after their own weddings. Never buy something online without a promo code. Have a junk email where you register for coupons and promo codes.

We are newly engaged & still have 13 months till our wedding but so far everything has been falling in to place for us.
I already use ebates, I know that is going to be a great way to save & earn cash back that we can use for our honeymoon.

The venue we have decided on is VERY reasonable. We fell in love with the venue & thought that we would be getting a good price by booking a year in advance but they actually have a flat rate all inclusive price. It includes the ceremony & reception sites, all tables, chairs, table cloths, any decor they have (most people who choose this venue have a similar themed wedding), sound system etc. I highly recommend checking if your venue or possible venues offer options like this. I know that alone saved us thousands.

We are also having our wedding on a Sunday afternoon. We did this so that we won't have to worry about football (in the south football is the 2nd religion) After deciding on a Sunday wedding we were told that we would probably save a lot since it isn't a Saturday.

We have decided to use Spotify premium & have a close friend control the music for our ceremony instead of a musician.

By deciding on our theme, flowers etc a year in advance I am taking advantage of sales & clearance for my fake flowers & diy stuff.

Etsy!! I found my flower girl dress on Etsy. It's 1/3rd of the price compared to David's Bridal & it's exactly what I want. (We aren't having the dress made until closer to the wedding) Since all items are hand made most sellers are willing to customize things for you. You're also supporting small/home based businesses. It's also a great place to check for any custom items needed.

If you have friends/family members who do things that you need check with them about their services. My sister in law is honored that we asked her to do our cake. My fh will only eat her cakes so it worked out & she is doing our cake as our wedding gift! Another family member is a photographer & asked to do our engagement photos. My best friend & my sister in law have offered to help with the food since we are going to do simple finger foods which saves us from having to hire a caterer.

Going with an afternoon wedding & having finger foods at the reception instead of a formal meal cuts food cost.

We don't drink so we are saving a ton by not having alcohol.

As said before DIY! But I do agree to check things out before hand to make sure your DIY is going to save you money.

Fake flowers or order from a floral wholesaler.

By saving as much as we have/are we are able to spend more on other things like our photographer. We would rather spend more on the things that we will always have to remember the day like our photos.

No need for a full bar. Beer and wine will keep guests happy and save you$$$.
-Forget the typical wedding cake. Get a small cake to cut then do a dessert table with 3-4 small desserts instead
    - you want a cathedral veil but can’t afford it? Go to the Hobby Lobby wedding section . There’s one for around $30.
Forget the $$$ wedding stationary and buy from Costco , Walgreens, Staples, or Etsy. Invite and rsvp cost us $2 per invite

You all have so many great ideas. I totally agree with Amazon and if you can DIY, then go for it. Saved a ton on place cards, invites, flowers, and decor. I also used the online rental Linen Tablecloth for my linens. Spent a fraction of what local companies were asking for, and we didnt use standard fabrics. Dollar Tree was also a life saver, and my venue saved us a lot. We had a good relationship and we got some things for free.

I'm re-using the bridesmaid bouquets as some of my centerpieces. So after the ceremony and we are done talking pictures they will just drop their bouquet in a vase on the table.

My favorite new trick is before buying ANYTHING online email the company and say something along the lines of “I really love your product and it came highly recommended, however we are on a strict budget so I thought I’d check to see if you have any sales coming up so I can decide if we can make it work” they will email you back a coupon code. I got 30% off invites, 20% off sparklers and 15% off linens 🙌🏼 Gonna use that forever
