Money for Honeymoon for Bridal Shower?

brittani, on October 10, 2013 at 2:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

My FH & I live together & we've recently had a housewarming party about a year ago. We really don't need house things so what is a nice way to ask for money to help us out with our honeymoon? My cousin went to Disney for her honeymoon & we got to visit a website & buy her things that her & her husband could do in Disney. Things like, a night on the town, massages, etc. I don't remember the site but was just wondering if anyone ever heard of that. It may just be a Disney thing. HELP! I don't want to be rude!

Just don't register and people will give you money. Although the whole point of a shower is for gift opening so this is something that works better as an actual wedding gift

My coworker went to Sandals and they had a honeymoon registry through their resort. For a shower, I would still register for a few things. People like to give physical gifts at a bridal shower, and if you don't you could end up with a bunch of stuff you already have/don't want.

I have a friend that set up her honeymoon registry through AAA. I don't believe it cost them anything, and there were no surcharges on their guests either.

Honeymoon registries are rude and tacky. Just create a small registry and spread by word of mouth you are saving for a honeymoon. Also, showers are to "shower the bride with gifts", not "shower the bride with money".

Asking for money in any shape or form, honeymoon registry, gift card, etc. is RUDE.
