Does he know there's a bunch of other things he can do to honor his grandmother?

Also, will grandma really even care? If I did that my grandmother would tell me I'm being an idiot, and to pick a date that would work for our budget and VIPs.

I like the Sunday idea with a Midnight toast to his grandmother. There are other ways to honor her:

-Dance to the same song she and his grandpa danced to if it's not terrible

-Put her on the program

-Do something else significant on October 8th

We are putting up photos of all past weddings up on the gifts/desert table.

If you want to cut your guest list, this is a great idea, but for many it will be a hardship. Really, it is up to you, and your loved ones will do their best. It sounds like you don't really want to do a Monday wedding if you're posting it on here though. Be honest with FH.
