Mom as Maid of Honor?

I can't do that, as my mom passed away many years ago. But I wanted to tell you that I think it's a wonderful idea!!! I would do it if I could, as my mom and I were always super close. Go for it!!

That is super sweet! It's your wedding, so personalize it in anyway you see fit. if you're close, I'm sure she would love to be your MOH.

I am not, but my dad was my brothers best man. He doesn't have many good friends and I think having my dad there with him made the day really special for them both. Especially because he accused my parents of not being supportive of his marriage when they got engaged, despite them paying for most of it, and even remodeling their house when they got pregnant at 20 so they would have their own bedroom, nursery, family room, and bathroom while they finished college.

Do you think she would enjoy that? My mom at least would have hated it haha, she says wedding parties are for "young people." I joked about making her my maid of honor and she was like "I'm not your maid of honor, I'm your mother, that's better than maid of honor." She would hate having to wear the matching dresses with my friends, and she said it just wouldn't feel right to her to be in my bridal party. She is walking me down the aisle which we both feel is more of a motherly task.

That's to say, if you think your mom would like to be honored as the maid of honor, then go for it! I'm just saying think about if she would actually like that title or not lol.
