I'm getting a Charles and Colvard moissanite. No pics because it's still being designed. A 1.5 carat equivalent is a little over 1k. Some people don't like the rainbow sparkle but the Hearts and Arrow cut tones it down. I think it's a great budget friendly alternative to diamonds. I hear the Old European Cut sometimes develops an oil slick. If you go bigger than 2 carats it does start to look a bit odd. I saw a 3 carat that looked a little plasticky from the side view. The 2.3 carat looked fine. I really prefer the colorless Forever One over the near colorless, which looked yellow in comparison. If you hold the colorless F1 up in direct sunlight, it takes on a pale blue tint (like an aquamarine) but some diamonds do that, too. People also swear by Moissanite and Co

I love my ring and it’s a larger stone about 2.25 “Carats”. Other than the fact the center stone is quite large I don’t think the stone itself looks “fake” or obvious. I personally only cared that my ring has the simple band, and if it’s durable enough to last...not if it’s a real diamond. I’ve never been a big jewelry person and think diamonds are priced so high for no good reason anyway so I always knew I’d end up doing an alternative stone. I have a oval forever one moissanite that I bought online from https://www.moissaniteco.com. $1540. I highly recommend them to anyone who might be reading this and is considering a moissanite ring or piece of jewelry.

Have you thought about a white sapphire? I have a white sapphire engagement ring and I absolutely love it. On the hardness scale, it’s a 9 so they are pretty durable and they are about a quarter the price of a diamond. The only downfall is that they get dirty and lose their shine more frequently but it’s definitely worth it.

I loveeee mine! I have a moissanite pear engagement ring and I wanted my wedding band to be moissanite, too! The only difference that you can really see to the untrained eye between moissanites and diamonds is that the moissanite reflects rainbow whereas diamonds reflect clear. My husband got my endgame to ring from Gerry the Jeweler and we got my wedding band from Esdomera on Etsy.

I love my moissanite. I don’t really care about diamonds since they’re just too expensive and you can get a moissanite that looks better than a diamond. Mine is 2carats with a diamond halo and pave band and it cost about $1600.

We got mine from Moissanite Co! It’s 0.75ct equivalent F1 Hearts and Arrows. It’s was a little over $800 I believe but I love it. Moissanite was my idea once I found out about it and I had to talk FH into it because he was so focused on “but it’s not a diamond”. But I’ve never had anyone say anything bad about it! I offer that it’s a Moissanite quite often if I’m showing it off.

This is my soon-to-be fiancés ring with a .75 ct moissanite stone. The total came to less than $1000 because we had to get it custom made and we used Etsy. On a scale of hardness, moissanite is the only stone similar to a diamond. It’s also shinier in the light and conflict free.

Mine is a 1 ct Forever One moissanite centerstone with diamonds on the band. It’s a platinum band. It was roughly $1500. I love it so much! As a PP said, the only difference I can tell is the refracting rainbow colors vs white. I will always recommend moissanite!

I did a TON of research before deciding I wanted a moissanite ring. Of course you can read articles from both the diamond and moissy companies and see why they think their product is best but ultimately, for me, it came down to a few things:

    1. Moissanite is almost as hard as diamonds and harder than rubies, sapphires and other gemstones. They don't scratch and they will last a lifetime which makes them a practical choice if you want a clear stone but not a diamond

    2. Price wise, depending on whether you order a brand name stone or not, moissanite is incredibly affordable in comparison to diamond. My 6mm x 8mm pear cut bezel set in rose gold was less than $600. I'm getting two curved bands with about 5-8 moissanite stones each to create a sort of halo and those TWO solid gold rings together are less than $400. The carat comparison guides I've seen on the interwebs have compared this size ring to a 1.25-1.5 carat diamond....

    3. Design. I wanted a pear/water drop/tear drop shape ring. What I found is that diamond pear shaped rings are very angular and have a pointy tip to them. I found that moissanite pear rings tend to be cut with a softer rounder point and a more full bodied bottom Smiley smile This was my personal preference and helped make my decision that much easier.

Ultimately, Im very scared to wear expensive jewelry every day - I wanted a ring that was the shape/design I wanted but not so expensive that I felt terrified to wear it the rest of my life or that I would be destroyed if something ever did happen to it. Being a frugal lady, moissanite checked all the boxes for me.

I personally don't care if it doesn't look exactly like a diamond because I didn't get it to be a dupe - I don't mind offering that my ring is a gemstone because I love it and that's what I chose - I also know that there are tons of YouTube videos out there showing that the visual differences between most diamonds and mossy is very minimal. I even watched a video where a diamond tester registered multiple moissanite stones as diamond - it even fakes out technology!! So if your friends and family doesn't include any diamond experts, its unlikely that anyone would even think it wasn't diamond... unless you choose something huge. There is a more 'rainbow' like reflection but I mostly only see that in the sunlight and I don't think its as... childish?..,. as some people make the rainbow coloring sound. Personally I find it more clear and bright than a diamond and I'm completely obsessed with it.

You can view C&C forever one moissanite at helzberg if you have one near you. I'll try and attach a pic when I get home but I have an ags000 moissy from MoCo that I love. It was $1200 for 1.75 carot 14k white gold. A little more expensive because it was a custom design.
