I’m very blessed with so many close friends throughout my life, which is why I have a large bridal party with 8 bridesmaids!!! They are all friends of mine and are not relatives. I have decided not to have a maid of honor, because all my friends have been very close to me and I couldn’t just chose one. So now as our wedding is getting closer, I am unsure what to do for the typical maid of honor speech? My fiancé’s brother is the best man so he will be giving a speech, but I am torn about what to do for mine. Just wondering if anyone has also been in this similar situation?

    Maybe pick the one who would do the best speech. Not everyone is a wordsmith or comfortable with this kind of thing. Picking the one that is doesn't have to mean anything more than that.

    You could just ask the girls if any of them want to give a speech and decide that way.

    I agree with Chandra, talk to your girls and see if anyone is agreeable to represent your bridesmaids.

    Are you doing a rehearsal dinner? You could open it up to anyone who might want to say a few words then. We don't want anyone to feel left out so that is what we are doing. We also don't want to bog down the reception with a ton of speeches so we are limiting those to just our parents.

    We've opted out of all guest speeches, we will be the only ones giving a speech just thanking particular people and inviting everyone to enjoy and let all of our guests know how much they mean to us
