Moe's Catering

Bo Leigh, on February 7, 2017 at 8:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

Hello!

We are debating if we should use Moe's catering for our wedding. Has anyone ever used them for their wedding / other event? What was the price per person? I know it will vary depending on places, but we are trying to find a ballpark while we are talking right now.

I'll call Moe's later this week and get an actual quote.

Just curious for tonight.

What happens after it gets delivered? Does Moe's provide staff that will monitor food temp and refill trays as needed?

How many people is this for?

I'm not too sure how pumped I'd be to be spilling guac on a new dress.

That's what I'm tying to find out. We want a taco bar, so FH suggested Moe's. He has had their catering for small events (20-30 people), but isn't sure how bigger events work out. Our wedding will only have about 80 people, including vendors, guests, and us.

I think Moe's is totally fine. The only thing to worry about is keeping the food warm and fresh.

I had Chipotle for my engagement party, it worked because it was casual and small (40 people or something). But we did the whole set up, they only delivered. Not sure how involved Moe's is, but I still wouldn't recommend that kind of catering for a wedding.

I'm 90% sure they drop it off, set it up, and leave. No one from moes is going to stay at your wedding all night to make sure food is at the right temp.

I'm pretty sure they just set it up and go. I would be worried about keeping it warm and fresh throughout. I would suggest going to an actual catering company and discussing a taco bar with them. A friend of mine did this in October and it worked wonderfully.

I'd definitely be worried about proper food temp being maintained, unless they have staff that can stay?

Moe's is really great to work with. I've never used them for an event with 80 people, but there is always PLENTY of food and I believe they bring the little canisters of fire (good heavens....) to keep the food warm. PLUS if you have Moe's, people will scarf it down before it gets cold Smiley winking

As amazing as Mexican is- I'd side eye the hell out of a huge 80 person wedding if you asked me to get dressed and you fed me Moe's.

    Late night snack? totally different.

But main meal. please- come on now.

I really like Moe's, but I would be less than impressed if it was served at a wedding.

I've been to a wedding with one "Mexican" station - with mini tacos, nachos, and salsa/guac bar. It was great - because the wedding also had multiple other stations.

Moe's feels so in-wedding to me. And unattended, in-monitored Moe's also feels like food-borne illness waiting to happen.

Why don't you look around for catering companies that serve Mexican but will provide a full service for the night?

My friend is getting married on cinco de mayo, her new last name will be Mayo like the condiment it's perfect! They are doing chipotle catering, it came to like $12 per person. Yes it comes with all the warmers and serve wear. Price could vary by area.

Chipotle catering and Moe's catering are the same level of side eye in my opinion. And a chafing dish isn't going to change my mind about it.
