mob Champagne Dress?

I'm wondering why this would be a color to avoid? Seems to me to be a great, appropriate color for MOB/MOG. What was the reasoning given in the article?

The article mentioned that the color could match or be in a similar color family as the wedding dress and some brides may want more of a contrast to their dress. For me, there would be no resemblance between both dresses. I guess my follow up question to my original post is: If you were attending a wedding and the MOB had on the dress, would you think "oh wow, that's beautiful" or "why the heck is she wearing that color"? I think it's beautiful, but wanted to see what other's reactions would be.

My moms wearing champagne thats the color she wanted i see no issue with it! & it will compliment very nicely in photos

Lovely dress. As long as MOB loves it she should get it. The color is far different from white and will look lovely.

I see a lot of champagne dresses when I search online and on Pinterest for MOB dresses. Honestly I think it's a great color for the moms and wouldn't bat an eye. I plan to find a color that compliments champagne since that's the color my daughter's BM's are wearing, but if they weren't it would be a color I'd be interested in.

And the bridesmaids are all wearing long dresses in a style of their choice, but in this color.

I think it looks beautiful and if your mom feels like a million bucks in it, then get it!

I have 6 girls total for my side (4 bridesmaids, 1 JR bridesmaid, and 1 MOH). All of the girls are my and my FH's sisters and the JR bridesmaid is his niece who we absolutely adore. All, but the MOH found their dresses in the quartz color. We're having a hard time finding the perfect dress for my MOH and will be searching elsewhere for a dress in this exact color. I'm hoping we find it out there, but if not, we can always put her in a lilac or contrasting color that fits the color scheme. This is one gigantic jigsaw puzzle. I'm admittedly having fun trying to figure things out so that's a good thing at least!

I think I have seen a dozen MOB's and MOG's wearing champagne. One article does not make a rule.

Maybe because champagne is a popular color for wedding dresses now?! I don’t know. But the dress is beautiful if the color is ok with you then it shouldn’t bother anyone else.

I didn't realize anything other than white, ivory, or any other poor close to white was forbidden. If your mom likes the dress and you don't mind her wearing that color, I'd say let her wear it. I doubt anyone is going to side eye her for it.

I think that article is just pointing out that some champagne is closer to a cream color. There shouldn’t be an issue as long as you & your mom like the dress & are comfortable with her wearing it.

Perhaps the article was referring to brides who wear nonwhite dresses. I think I tried on a few dresses that had a golden color underneath white lace. That may be the only reason to avoid, but I can't say I would have cared had I chosen one of those dresses. I don't think the dress looks inappropriate in any way. It is beautiful and doesn't seem to me to be trying to mimic a wedding dress in any way. I think it is perfect if your mom likes it.
