I found inspiration for them on the David's Bridal website. Very classic dresses with a standout color from what I see.

Most brides ask the MOB and MOG to wear complementary colours to the wedding colours so that when family photos are taken everyone blends well together i.e. fall wedding colours-ladies should not wear hot pink.

All I said was No Green, since that was one of the main colours of our wedding. My mother ended up with a beautiful purple print dress and MIL wore navy.

I heard that back and the day the MOB would wear pink and the MOG would wear blue so guests could tell who they belong to.

Now a days they can really wear anything. My mom wore black to my brother’s wedding, and might wear black to mine.

It really depends on how formal or informal your event is. Good luck and happy planning!

Both of ours are in their 70s and have chose to wear pants suits.

Oh, and my mom is wearing a grey to compliment the royal blue, but my FMIL found a suit in her closet that she has never worn that is the exact color of the brides maids. Yeah, so they are not suppose to match. But we really don't care. Just happy both are moms are still here to see us get married. Smiley smile

My Mom and FMIL both picked out their own dresses. I told them to wear whatever they wanted. Bridesmaids dresses are black. Moms decided on their own to both get silver dresses, but they are very different from one another. They're going to look really nice in pictures.

I was told the Mother of the Bride picks out her dress (makes sure it looks good with yours and birdesmaids) then the Mother of the Groom picks her dress so it looks nice with your Moms. And of course you get to say if you like or dislike them

I actually vetoed all of those horrendous MOB dresses with the boleros and stiff shoulders. EW. My mom is a foxy fiftysomething who looks like she's in her late 30s anyways...(I have great hope for my genes). She can wear what she wants.

Funny, Shanon. We were all so surprised at how a lot of MOTB or G dresses are fairly sexy. David's Bridal really surprised us. We felt bad when we had to search for grandmother of the bride. lol

My mom is wearing a rose colored trumpet styled dress...I actually wanted her in red bc she looks so good in it. (Now my girls are in red)

My MOG is wearing this really pretty royal blue color. I just want everyone to feel really beautiful no matter what they are wearing.

@GypsyBride my FH's GM and BM are wearing brown boots, jeans, long sleeve button up shirt (white) and (brown) vests. However my FH's vest is a lighter brown vest. My dress is white. My BM, well right now I have them pictured, two of them in light pink, two in light orange and one in a champagne color. My MOH is wearing a very light blue.

Seriously whatever they want. My mom has a complete forever young attitude, yes within reason, and wouldn't be caught dead in some matronly faded out color dress! She's my bff and she can rock what she wants Smiley smile My FMIL went the traditional route, royal blue with a lace sleeves, but that's her style, let them have fun with it too! And personally I would never tell my FMIL not to wear a dress, I saw a bride do this and it was the saddest thing, FMIL was truly hurt.

Yeah, whatever they want. Ours picked their own outfits and both happened to wear shades of blue. Here are pictures. (first MOG, 2nd MOB and my sister too)
