Mission bbq reviews on cost?

Taylor , on May 6, 2018 at 3:03 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 25
Hi there! I was wondering if there are any brides who have either catered through Mission BBQ or if you had them cater another event. And what your experience was. I found a venue I love, but my fiance and I aren't crazy about the price nor were we wowed by the food.

Our date was set for March 2019 due to work scheduling, and now it's no longer and issue and we want to move it to May 2019 and have a more fun, laid back event.

Our venue we have is around $9000 for the venue, food, drinks for 100 people.

Any bride done a backyard BBQ and can let me know what your budget was like?

Thank you so much!

I know they have a form on their website where you can request a quote. I sent one a few weeks ago but have not heard back.

I went to a wedding with mission bbq and i was not impressed considering they charged $40 a plate from what I was told. I have another friend using them in may 28.

I absolutely love Mission BBQ, and think they could be great for a super casual event. But you are much braver than I would be when it comes to eating bbq in my white dress. I never have made a mess with bbq, but I would be so paranoid, lol. Wish I wouldn't be, though

I have not heard of them, but I hope that you find an exemplary package to give your guests a great meal that stays within your budget?

I’m using mission bbq for my wedding which they’re charging me about $2500 for 80 ppl. They’re bringing their own everything ( tables, linen, serving utensils, signs etc) , 3 staffers, 2 bartenders, they’re gonna help setup and cleanup. I’m having a buffet style wedding but they will also serve us and some guests. I’m bringing my own linens for the wedding, alcohol and china. I have been to an event where they catered and to the restaurants and they’re amazing.

What!?? Seriously it must be different in each state because here in the DMV it’s 12/pp and 18/pp if you want them to do the fancy stuff but I opted to bring my own to stay at 12/pp

I saw somewhere that they can have the sauces in squeeze bottles so you can control how much is on your food. So I figured if I only put a little on I'd be safe! Smiley smile

We are having a bbq food truck do onsite grilling for us. We are paying about $18 per person for a buffet style set up with servers to dish out the food. It includes Salad, rolls, tri-tip, ribs, chicken and 3 sides of our choosing. The price includes all the linens, tables and utensils for the food service as well. It’s not Mission BBQ but hopefully it gives you an idea about cost.

I booked mission BBQ for my June 2018 wedding. Food is excellent. We are paying $12 per person for a buffet of 3 meats, 3 sides and bread. They provide serving staff for an addition $40 per hr. Plates, napkins and silverware included. My venue ( a farm) has had many brides use them and they have given great reviews. Our total for 70 people and 2 staff is about $1200 with a 30% deposit to book the date.

I asked my friend that is getting married on the 28th and she said they are charging $13 a plate. The other person could have added other things into it. I dont know for sure.

I’m in the DMV and have a client using them at $5000 for 200 people. By the looks of the offerings they selected it may be a little skimpy but they over extended themselves financially so they only had $5k to work with.

I know I’m a little late here on the thread but I’m using Mission BBQ in Wilmington NC to cater my wedding in May 2019. They really went above and beyond for us. Quick responses and they even invited us in to sample their menu at no cost to us. For around 120 people we’re looking at a little over $2500 for full service buffet style. That’s for 3 meats, 3 sides and drinks. They offered us plates/silverware/linens included but I think we will supply all that.

Hi, just wondering how the event turned out? Was the food and service as good as you expected?
