Miss or Ms?

Jessica, on March 21, 2011 at 2:30 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

My FHs aunt got divorced and went back to her maiden name. When I fill out the place card, should I put Miss (Name) or Ms. (Name)?

I never use Miss unless the girl is less than 18 years old.

    Ms.

Technically, Miss is for females under age 18 and unmarried.... although there is wiggle room with that. Particularly for a divorced woman, it the proper term would be Ms.

Definitely Ms. Miss is for girls, sort of how you use "Master" instead of "Mr." for boys under 12.
