Anyone chose to do a mismatch wedding band? Really considering it! The band my ring came with it SO plain! (Didn't buy the band)

FH picked out my e-ring all on his own, and I absolutely love it. The only problem, there was no matching band that Shane Co sold to go with it. But, somehow they had a "special order" band that was supposedly a match to mine, so in only seeing mock-up pictures of just the band, we chanced it and ordered it, knowing it was non-returnable. Well, we got it and I was just not a fan. It just looks so thin and dainty, especially on my fingers when worn by itself. Plus, with the curvature, it looks funny to wear by itself. In my job I want to be able to just wear my band by itself so ultimately we decided to go look at some other places for mismatched bands--originally I wanted a matching band but after discovering there wasn't one already made and a custom designed one would be way out of our price range, I started looking into the idea of mismatched. I love the band I finally chose. I know it's not everyone's taste but I love it, and I love that I can wear the band by itself, and it nestles perfectly against/under my e-ring.

Mine are mismatched. But, I wear the e-ring on my right hand, so the rings will be worn separately and look less like a pair. I have an antique e-ring, and I didn't want something that was molded around it, or a band that was equally intricate... I've always wanted a plain white gold band.

Plus, FH wanted our wedding bands to match, which I thought was sweet. We picked out the same bands, in different widths (mine is 3mm, his is 5mm).

Mine are very mismatched! my ering is white gold with a single diamond, the wedding band is tungsten with a simple design, i love the contrast in the different material!

I didn't get the band that matches my ring because I have short little fingers and the two of them together were too wide for my taste, so I went with a much smaller band that would take up less finger space.

Mine will be mismatched, I have a non-traditional opal e-ring from the 1910's the guys who restored my ring are currently working on our wedding bands. The colors of the opals will match, and the metal will match (rose gold) but they wont fit together like a puzzle and the opals wont be the same shape. I almost prefer that they don't match so that I can wear the wedding band solo if I want to.

We just did it, yup! It's your hand, it's your ring, get what you like and never mind what looks best in pictures.

My e ring is a family heirloom, and we had to buy the band separately.

I also have a mismatched set. My e-ring didn't come with a band and I knew I wanted a band with smaller diamonds in it. The jeweler and I went through many sets to try the band with my ring and I loved the way this one looked.

Yep. I have a green sapphire ering and a thin rose gold band.

Mine go together, but aren't a matching set. FH fell in love with the wedding band and chose my e-ring to go with it with the help of an awesome lady at Zales.

Mine don't really match either...like someone else said, "similar but not the same"

I have always loved the look of mismatched!! I think you have to decide what YOU and your fiancé like. We tried on several (including the matching band) and this was both of our favorites. Some of our older family members voiced not liking the mismatched band and how we should stick with the matching band. But like a lot of people said on this thread. You (and your SO) are the ones who look and enjoy it every single day so get what y’all like. No rules Smiley smile
