Mismatched rings?

Anyone have a wedding band that doesn't "match" your engagement ring? I'm leaning towards a very contemporary band to (not) match my very traditional emerald cut diamond. My ER is very structured where the WB is very fluid and organic in shape. I was wondering if anyone else "mismatched?" Of course...

I'll try to find something similar with links.

I originally wanted matching diamond bands that are like the sides of my ring. I decided that I loved the plain and if later we can upgrade. I am so happy with my choice.

It's really up to you and what you like. In general, I like mismatched if they both have the same feel, but that is just me.

I had the hardest time deciding on a band for me e-ring. H picked out my e-ring all on his own and i loooove it, but there was no matching band and it was hell trying to find a band that fit perfectly. After searching for months for one that would fit perfectly, I finally opened up to the idea of a totally mismatched band and I love it. It's not some people's taste because it is so mismatched, but the band fits perfectly under/against my e-ring and I love it.

Mine will be 'mismatched' as well... Here is my oval tanzanite and the ring set we're currently leaning towards. We want to have matching rings, and neither of us are flashy types, so he doesn't want stones on his. We both like that these are interesting looking and interesting to talk about.

I haven't bought the band yet, but I'm planning on getting this one that doesn't really match my ER..

This is what we are thinking... I love it. I just dont want people to cringe and go, ewww. Ha. It's the first and only wedding band my FI has picked out that we both LIKED. Everything else I have shown him, including rings that "match," he has hated. I love that he picked it out. Now to see if we can get it in platinum!

I love it! I tried on two bands. Neither fit my ring exactly. I love mine even if it isn't perfect! Your ring and band are gorgeous! You can wear the band without your ering and it'll still be gorgeous!

@Kobieta I was the same way as you, worried what other people would think because mine are so mismatched. But H reminded me that I am the one that is going to wear it for the rest of my life so it needs to be something that I love. So just remember that--as long as you and FH love it, who cares what other people think!

I love mismatching! DH's is a plaid made of several different metals and mine are non bridal rings (white sapphire, black diamond and sterling silver) I put together.

Wedding bands are so personal that I don't think it really matters what other people think. Get something you and your FH love. That is all that matters.

Ugh. They want to charge me $2000 more for that ring in Platinum. I guess we're back to the drawing board!

I have mismatched rings. I wear my e-ring on my right hand, and my wedding band on my left. The jeweler said this is becoming more common, mismatched rings, and that if I wanted he could set my e-ring flush with the wedding band, but right now I wear it on the other hand. I like the look of a single wedding band. Here is what my rings look like together, and the reason why I wear the e-ring on a separate hand ... they just don't go together.

Mine also don't match. Once we wed, I stopped wearing the e-ring and just wear the small gold bands. I didn't want something with a large center stone.

Mine don't look right together at all. I haven't worn my e-ring since we got married. I may resize to look better with my band or resize it to wear on my right. Either way, it has to be resized and I just haven't gotten around to it.

I love the mismatched idea. No one can just walk in and select your rings and the combo is unique to you. Heres mine.....
