Mismatched rings?

Kobieta, on November 16, 2015 at 2:40 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 44

Anyone have a wedding band that doesn't "match" your engagement ring? I'm leaning towards a very contemporary band to (not) match my very traditional emerald cut diamond. My ER is very structured where the WB is very fluid and organic in shape. I was wondering if anyone else "mismatched?" Of course mobile won't let me post a picture- sorry! I'll try to find something similar with links.

Mine don't match, FH bought my ER, and my WR was a gift from my grandfather, it was my grandmothers. I don't mind that it doesn't match, I like the sentimental value of it. I think it depends on you, do you like for everything to match and look perfect, or do you not really mind? It all depends on what you think, and what makes you happy. Your going to be the one wearing it for the next 50+ years Smiley smile

As long as you don't mind that they don't fit together perfectly and may have gaps! I think it looks great and is so unique! I've been looking at mismatched bands like this one

I love my mismatched bands! I also wanted something more organic looking to go with my structured e-ring, and I like how my scalloped band looks on its own, too, although I never really go out without my e-ring. This picture is dark, but in person, the bands match in color, which I think is important. The wedding band isn't as sparkly as the e-ring, but the gold is slightly lighter, so it balances out. Definitely do it, if that's what you want! I agree with Margaret -- YOU're the one who needs to wear and look at these every day for the rest of your life, so go with what makes you happy!

Mine are mismatched. I personally like the way it looks. It gives it a bit more flare and uniqueness. You just have to find the right mismatched ban for your ring. It look me awhile to find one that "mismatched" properly.

Closest ring...but mine has tapered baguettes and a narrow "band." http://www.brilliantearth.com/The-Maria-Teresa-Ring-Platinum-BTG301508/

I think you'll really just need to try them together and decide what you think. It's so different when it's actually on your hand, you know? With mismatched bands, I would just say to be careful with the proportions. I know those are just the closest examples you could find, but for instance, that twist ring is too big compared to that e-ring -- the e-ring diamonds would have to be huge to look good with such a big twist (in my opinion).

@OP, that e-ring is really pretty, though! It's really unique. What would a matching band even be? Just a plain gold one?

Here's mine! Doesn't match either. We bought the band from the same place DH got my engagement ring and there was a matching band. I just didn't choose it haha.

    ETF: better picture.

Here's mine. Doesn't match but I don't care. I wanted my e-ring to stand out so I chose a plain band.

Love mismatched! I don't have it in person yet, but here's my e-ring, a digital of both together, and a pic of my wedding band from the jeweler.

    Yay for Emerald cuts!!!

My cousin got a band that matches her DH and wears her ER on her right hand. It's different but I like it.

I don't think it matters if they don't match. Get what you want!

Mine don't match. Hell, I can't even wear my band on my ring finger.

I've seen A LOT of rings that don't match - engagement and wedding as well as the Groom's ring that have no style match to his Bride. What was in common with every set is that the B+G got what meant the most to them. It's really cool.

Mine are different metals. I originally planned to get a scalloped diamond band but when I saw my ring with the plain gold band it was just perfect. Plus I love how the plain band looks by itself.
