Minted all-in-one invites total review with photos and details!

FutureMrsKC, on November 16, 2018 at 1:29 PM Posted in Planning 2 27

So I've posted about my experience so far, but now I've sent my invites out and I have a few tips and tricks for these!

Overall, I'm super happy we went with these! Saved us on envelopes, Minted printed the addresses for us, and it could not have been easier to send them out. We picked a more understated design, just simple black writing on nice white paper. I loved the clean look of these and the fact that it folded into itself was awesome too. The bottom of the invite is the RSVP card and it just tears off and turns into a postcard for guests to easily return their answer. I also ordered custom stamps from Minted to throw in our little greenery theme without being overwhelming. One negative to the custom stamps, they are rather large and the stamp on the post card was a lot bigger than the allotted space on the card so I had to slightly fold the edge of the stamp over the side to make it fit and not cover FH name. I feel like a regular 0.35 stamp would have fit perfect but again the custom stamps were bigger than an average stamp so it was an awkward size for those but I made it work. I only had to fold a tiny edge of the stamp over but it will still scan and work.

The invites come with clear stickers to close the sides and then for one sticker to go on the back. I thought that was nice and they worked really well. Supposedly they weren't supposed to tear the paper when the invite was opened, and according to a few guests who received them their invites opened up without tears very easily!

To throw in our greenery theme again, I bought stickers with the same green design. I put the clear sticker on the back first, then the greenery sticker on top. I didn't want the sticker to tear the paper of the RSVP card so I thought this would work best to try to keep it as clean as possible.

I have heard from others that there can be mailing issues because the sides don't 100% close and there is a slight gap. I put the invites under heavy books and other objects for about an hour to flatten them as much as possible. After about an hour and a half we drove to a local USPS and dropped them off! People started to receive them yesterday and I've heard nothing but great things about them! A lot of people like the tear off RSVP and think the folded design is cool. Overall this design saved us money, saves paper from being thrown away because it doesn't require envelopes, and it is a little more modern than the average invite. I would pick this option again if I had to, and I think this is a great option for a budget bride or an eco-conscious bride!

Now for pics!

Pretty fonts used, and saved my hand from cramping! The lighting in my house at night made these look very ivory but they are actually white. Question about these, Is there any place to discreetly put a return stamp? I really love this idea but I feel kind of bad making guests pay for their own return postage. Also how do they know what address to return the RSVP card to?

I put the return stamp on the back of the postcard part! Thats what I was talking about when I said the custom RSVP stamp didn't full fit but a regular stamp would. Also when you lift the back tab it has the return address already printed on the RSVP card. Literally all the guest has to do is fill it out and drop it in the mail, they don't pay a dime or put too much effort in!

That is really really cool. When we first got engaged I started looking at all the fancy 3 piece sets with belly bands and all that and it adds up so quickly. This is an amazing alternative

Definitely agree! I wanted my invites to look pretty formal without spending $500 on paper that will eventually go in the trash. Minted has beautiful designs in this style, so I knew this was the best choice for us! So far we have gotten a lot of compliments on them.

Hi! I am looking into these for my daughter’s upcom8ng wedding and had ordered samples. When I took them to the post office the other day I was told that an extra 21 cents would be required because of the size of the envelope in addition to the 50 cent stamp. Not sure why I was told this since it worked for you!

Hmmm, that’s strange because that wasn’t the case for us! I double checked on Minteds website as well and it says for the full invite you need a 50 cent stamp and for the postcard RSVP you only need a 35 cent stamp! A lot of our guests have been receiving theirs yesterday and today so they went through just fine!

That is great to hear! It’s so strange though because I had 10 different samples of them and the lady at the post office kept saying they would require the extra postage. I had seen the same info on Minted about 5gem only needing the 50 cent stamp. They are beautiful and there are so many options! I am waiting until Black Friday to order them! Thanks for all the info!

I second the question about the paper! All my samples are the standard paper and I really want to see the value paper.

So glad I found this! I think we are going with this too. Silly question but couldn’t really tell from minted’s pictures - you use 2 stamps per invitation, correct? One on the back of the rsvp tear off and one on the back of the main evelope fold?

Thats what I did Holly. Regular postage for the entire invitation and then a postcard stamp for the rsvp postcard
