Minimony gift given, reception this month, what do i do?

Jessica, on September 12, 2021 at 12:52 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
Hi everyone!
I’m a bridesmaid who was apart of a COVID wedding that got postponed a year due to everything that happened. The bride had a minimony last year, where I gave her a normal check/ wedding gift. this year, she is having the actual reception. Am I expected to give another check? I find this to be excessive but I don’t want to be rude!!

I wouldn’t. You already gave a wedding gift- no need for a second.

It's definitely not necessary, however I personally would. It wouldn't be anything too expensive, but I wouldn't want to show up empty handed. But there is just me!

I agree that it’s not necessary. I would probably still get a card, but that’s it.

No way! Some of my bridesmaids gave me a lovely gift at the mini-ceremony last year (which was totally not necessary), and I would not want or expect them to give more. I don't think your friend would expect it either.
